[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Apology
[edit]I did not know that the Getting started tab was automatic. I apologize for the accusation that you were a sockpuppet.--74.12.195.248 (talk) 13:35, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
Thanks very much, thats very good of you. I in turn apologize for saying youre accusation was based on no agreeing with my edit. I only understand the process now, I thought i had been officially declared a sock puppet. Daithicarr (talk) 13:41, 10 March 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Daithicarr! I received your message but in the meantime some editors at the Teahouse have replied to your query and established that you aren't a sockpuppet. The anonymous editor 74.12.195.248 has also recognised this and retracted his accusation at Talk:2014 Crimean crisis.
I'm really sorry that some of your first experience editing involved such stress but unfortunately this sort of thing sometimes happens on controversial articles such as that one. The best course of action is just to keep cool and try discussing or seeking help as you did. Anyway, I hope it didn't put you off editing Wikipedia! If you have any questions please do ask at the Teahouse or on my talkpage. Cheers, benzband (talk) 13:51, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
Thanks very much for your help. I had never considered editing wikipedia before today. AS you say I probably should have gone for something less controversial to start with. Daithicarr (talk) 13:56, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
Welcome!

Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~)
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put

on your userpage.Sincerely, Mz7 (talk) 22:50, 10 March 2014 (UTC) (Leave me a message)
