Ulysses and censorship in the US

[edit]

Hello DS. The case involving John Quinn was Obscenity trial of Ulysses in The Little Review in 1921, not United States v. One Book Called Ulysses twelve years later.

Thank you for the correction. I appreciate your scrutiny.

Orthography changes

[edit]

I noticed the changes you've been making to Irish othography. I get it that you prefer that form, but you will have to have consensus to do that sweeping a change as it would affect too many articles, and render the language here inconsistent. Maybe WP Ireland or the Irish Language Task Force, if still active, could weigh in here. Either way, we'd need agreement on something like this. - CorbieV 00:37, 13 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Diacritics are like accent marks. They clarify Irish spelling.

January 2019

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doug Weller. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Fénius Farsaid, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Doug Weller talk 12:54, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I see that a lot of your edits are unsourced. Please read WP:VERIFY, WP:NOR and WP:RS. Thanks. Doug Weller talk 13:33, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've included the source. Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you. When you post on a talk page or anywhere people sign, don't forget to add a space and 4 tildes, eg ~~~~ which when saved gives, for me, Doug Weller talk 12:19, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2019 election voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:19, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
