A tag has been placed on Chandana Jayaratne requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. July 2016

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you create an inappropriate page again, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. You have recreated several pages with the same content that was previously deleted from AfD's. Please do not recreate pages with that were deleted from an AfD if there are no significant changes. If you create a new page that was previously deleted, I recommend that you place a notice with your improvements on the talk page.

The articles you re-created are:

Thank you. Dane2007 (talk) 06:12, 25 July 2016 (UTC)

None of these pages are either inappropriate or copy and paste of deleted pages (it may still consist similar content because the subject is the same & information gathered from world wide web available to all). Thank you. DilJco (talk) 09:53, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
These pages were not changed enough to warrant creation again on Wikipedia. I suggest you review the AfD discussions in order to determine what is needed to potentially bring them up to standards, if possible. Also, the pages are "inappropriate" in that they've been reintroduced without significant changes from the AfD discussions. I suggest you review wikipedia policies. Dane2007 (talk) 18:26, 25 July 2016 (UTC)
As long as Wikipedia exists any subject can be reintroduced (not copy and paste). A person who is in another country who has never heard of these subjects may tag it "Speedy Deletion" (They may also wonder as to how editors who are born in non English speaking countries are creating these pages in English for subjects that they have never heard or know how popular in another country). Just because some one finds few dead links (could occur due to geographical server traffic all around the world at any given time, page under construction etc) or a YouTube link amongst other reliable sources, it is very unfair it to be tagged for "Speedy Deletion". I have saved many such appropriate articles in the past and will not be deterred.DilJco (talk) 00:42, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
Firstly I think you missing the point. The basic principles of WP is the subject of the articles have to be notable in their own right. To this effect there are a number of policies, which assist in determining whether an individual is notable or not. The articles which have been deleted have been determined not to satisfy those criteria. Simply re-creating the same article without addressing the issue for which they were deleted in the first place is disruptive and contrary to WP policies as outlined by Dane2007. Secondly just because an editor is born in another country does not mean that they don't understand the basic principles upon which WP is created. Also those editors may have a strong understanding of the country and culture, even if they were not born there. Don't assume otherwise. Finally WP is an international forum and as such accessible to all, as such the verifiability of information should be able to sourced no matter where the editor is. Dan arndt (talk) 03:24, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

WP basic principles are well understood (saved many articles that were proposed for deletion by the international forum - wonder someone understood basic principles upon which WP is created?, strong understanding of the country and culture even though some may have not born there? in the first place). All articles created are nourished with verifiable sources (locally published popular newspapers, government web sites etc). Word by word references are not needed and information is found when the sources are read. DilJco (talk) 04:05, 26 July 2016 (UTC)

I'm not sure where the lapse in understanding is in this. I would again suggest you read wikipedia policies to understand fully why we're trying to guide you in the right direction. You have consensus between two individuals that your articles, as recreated, do not belong on wikipedia after their prior AfD discussions. As noted in the original post in this section, this will serve as your only warning regarding this conduct. Further reintroduction of articles previously deleted via AfD without significant changes may result in a referral to the administrators noticeboard for incidents per the user conduct dispute policy. As @Dan arndt: and I have stated, if you recreate the articles and address the key problems in the AfD there is not an issue. However, the verifiability policy states that the burden of proof to demonstrate verifiability is on you, the editor. As you will have the prior AfD for reference, it is your responsibility to address the problems if you're reintroducing the article and the argument that "the information gathered from the world wide web available to all" is the reason why it has not been improved significantly to address problems would fail and argument. Hope this helps to clear up any confusion! Dane2007 (talk) 04:37, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
The re-created article Ranil Mallawarachchi was also nominated for speedy deletion by Dan arndt before (key problems in AfD are not addressed is my understanding - I'm not sure where the lapse in understanding is in this)? DilJco (talk) 05:06, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
The issue then and now is that the article fails to satisfy WP:NMUSIC. All you have provided is that he is the son of Milton Mallawarachchi, who has in the past performed his father songs. Unfortunately notability is not inherited. All of this has been previously stated. Dan arndt (talk) 05:25, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
Ranil being the son of Milton Mallawarachchi was there in the article then and now (ie: deleted & re-created). Milton's son is Ranil was there on Milton's article (many [citation needed] tags - seems this article too fails to satisfy WP:NMUSIC, notability and can be nominated for Speedy Deletion?) since creation. None of them are world famous singers or their names hardly ever published in a foreign news paper the least. Over to international forum and administrators. DilJco (talk) 05:55, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
Milton Mallawarachchi does met the criteria for notability. The article needs work to improve it to satisfactory standards. There is no independent reliable references cited for the article on Ranil Mallawarachchi however that supports his notability. Advertisements for minor concerts, where he sings his father's songs doesn't make him notable. If there was a review of his concerts published in a newspaper that would could be considered supporting his notability however I can't find any evidence of that. Dan arndt (talk) 03:42, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

Demonstrate verifiability with independent reliable references (possibly word by word citations) [citation needed], burden of proof, speedy deletion etc are applied by administrators only to targeted editors...just an example out of many on WP. DilJco (talk) 23:46, 27 July 2016 (UTC)

The article on Mahesh Amalean is potentially notable due to the fact that he was awarded Deshamanya in 2005. The article lacks references and I have indicated it as such. The issue is creating articles for individuals where you are unable to establish notability according to WP policies and guidelines. Dan arndt (talk) 05:23, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Nandadasa Kodagoda.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Nandadasa Kodagoda.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:15, 9 May 2017 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Amila Karunanayake, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discusion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
