Marmaris hotel guide
[edit]The link you added to Marmaris doesn't comply with the external linking guidelines. The site exists to promote hotels and apartments in Marmaris, and even includes, in some cases, a way to make online reservations, with referral linkage to the commercial site hotelclub.com. This site would be more acceptable on wikitravel, and the article already links to wikitravel. Therefore, I have reverted it again.
Regarding your edit summary comment "If you remove i will add again this will go on forever like this..." Please familiarize yourself with WP:POINT. Thanks. =Axlq (talk) 16:14, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

- Given your comment above, this is clearly your own web site. Therefore the should be deleted due to the clear conflict of interest alone. If you are associated with this web site, it is not your decision to include it in Wikipedia, it is the community's. As a member of that community, I think it doesn't belong. If you disagree, try suggesting its inclusion on the article's talk page instead of adding it back to the article, to see if others agree with you.
In that spirit, I will once again delete your link on the grounds of WP:COI and WP:EL, and I will request a third opinion to be posted on this user talk page, to get someone else involved in this dispute. =Axlq (talk) 15:37, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
I am not the operator
[edit]I should ask..Have you ever been to Marmaris? You can not know a place better then people who saw it before. At the same time this means you can not accuse someone or a website of anything as long as you do have personal information about the person or the site...I started to think that you are the operator of one of the below sites you did not delete on Marmaris page. I am not the operator of the site.I just know the site. And i contacted the admin the minute you told me about the affiliate links(altough it seems you are good at finding excuses for deleting the site)So i reverted again.Waiting for your deletion and wondering for the excuse you will use this time..I am just a person who personally likes Marmaris. And what you are trying to do makes me upset..Thats all.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.100.9.76 (talk) 19:57, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- Um... who are you? I was conversing with Dr.Fix.
- For now I will assume the IP addresses that have added this link are the same as Dr.Fix. In that case, Dr.Fix, I apologize if I erred in assuming you are the website operator.
- No, I have never been to Marmaris. Perhaps someday I will; it looks lovely. But that isn't relevant to this discussion.
- And by all means, delete other links that may be inappropriate. I honestly feel that your link is better on Wikitravel because it's tourism-related. The Marmaris article already has a link to the associated Wikitravel article.
- It is interesting to note that the website operator modifies the site according to suggestions you make, and you yourself indicated your familiarity with the site's development efforts. If that doesn't suggest you're the operator, it certainly suggests an association or reliationship. Therefore the WP:COI argument still applies - read it, please! And I still disagree that it meets the WP:EL guidelines for external links.
- You seem to be engaged in an effort to make this site acceptable for inclusion in Wikipedia. What reason do you have for that? More exposure for your site? Wikipedia isn't an advertising service. -Axlq (talk) 00:24, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Third opinion
[edit]I'll be giving a third opinion over at Talk:Marmaris. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 06:45, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
- I support both the third opinion itself and its placement on the article talk page, which is where discussions of article improvement belong. — Athaenara ✉ 07:00, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
A checkuser request has been submitted accusing you of being a sockpuppetry. I asked the submitter of the request to withdraw it. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk%3AAmatulic&diff=191531017&oldid=189786555
A word of advice. Try to explain all of your edits. Don't violate WP:3RR . Try not to promote companies or products on Wikipedia. Include them only if they are encyclopedic. Sometimes, people comment on checkuser request giving reasons why the checkuser should not be run. I won't do that but you can. Archtransit (talk) 23:47, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Someone has again accused you of creating a new user to make similar edits. The most convincing way of writing good edits is to write things that are very encyclopedia, are referenced, use reliable sources, and to have a logic discussion about your edits. If you are using socks, consider the better way that I just described. If you are not using socks, think of convincing arguments, so convincing that the other copycat users won't even think of it. If the convincing arguments are convincing, they only have to be mentioned by one user. Archtransit (talk) 16:29, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
Some words from me too..
[edit]Well first of all i have seen Marmaris and its a fantastic place to live..Maybe when i retire.. The point is i did not understand why it seems everybody is in a deletion war here.I checked the site and i think its OK.Its a general guide site(includes pics and some articles about Marmaris..But mostly hotel guides)So the question is how much detail we want on wikipedia? If the answer is more then this site http://www.marmarishotelsguide.co.uk should be added..And even Marmaris.org(though not so sure about that) So i give thumbs up for Marmaris guide.I think adds detail and quality..

- Please take this discussion to Talk:Marmaris#Third opinion where it belongs. And consider carefully the arguments from those editors (4 so far) with well-established histories on Wikipedia, who are most familiar with the policies and guidelines. Thanks. =Axlq (talk) 04:26, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
