November 2018

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Acroterion. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Douglas W. Hubbard, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Sourcing and formatting

[edit]

Please avoid using the big format on Wikipedia. The manual of style calls for the first mention of the subject to be bolded, no more. Also, when we tag articles for sourcing, it's because we need to see in-line sourcing in the article, not just at the bottom., particularly when it's a biography of a living person. Please use inline cites for all material. Acroterion (talk) 02:40, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please add references to the biographical content, and please remove the book reviews. Wikipedia isn't a vehicle for book promotion. Is there a conflict of interest that you ought to declare on this subject? Acroterion (talk) 18:40, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Book Reviews are not my addition

[edit]

The book review section was done by someone else not me. Should I remove it? Also, when you say include reliable references in Bio do you mean include links to information? DrKDP (talk) 18:55, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ideally, yes. While online links aren't compulsory - books are quite satisfactory as references - you should provide a link to sources. I can help you format them. The format used for the books is a bit obsolete - I was referring more to the other publication links you've added - but they're a decent model for references to biographical content. Since this concerns a living individual, support for the biographical content is essential. Acroterion (talk) 19:12, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
