There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. NeilN talk to me 19:48, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I see that the ZipRecruiter page has been closed, and I am looking to reinstate it. I work at ZipRecruiter, but I do not want the page to include any marketing or bias. The reason I had my username reflect the company was so that I could disclose my relationship upfront per the guidelines for creating a company page, but I fully accept the need for a name change. Here is what I have proposed for the article request: ZipRecruiter (ZipRecruiter is a job search engine based in Santa Monica, California. In August 2014, ZipRecruiter announced a $63 million Series A led by Institutional Venture Partners—the largest Series A round in Los Angeles in 2014. In February 2016, ZipRecruiter expanded its Tempe office. The company now has over 200 employees in Tempe, Arizona.) (http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/blog/business/2016/04/ziprecruiter-plans-to-hire-upwards-of-300-at-new.html) (http://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-ziprecruiter-funding-20140826-story.html) Let me know what I need to do to get remove the block and get ZipRecruiter page back up, I very much look forward to finding out how I can improve our page. Thank you so much for your help!

Decline reason:

Per below, this username still is not appropriate. Also no answers to the questions for more than a week. Huon (talk) 23:44, 3 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
What is your plan to recreate the ZipRecruiter page and remain in compliance with our Conflict of interest policy? SQLQuery me! 04:49, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As well as WP:PAID, as you've stated you work for ZipRecruiter. Note also Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/ZipRecruiter/Archive; I would have blocked for two weeks for sockpuppetry/meatpuppetry in the absence of the username issue, so this block should probably last at least that long. ~ Rob13Talk 20:17, 23 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Ks0stm: Why did you do that? Don't you know about DreamFactory, DreamFactory Software or Dream Factory (distributor)? This username is as promotional as the original one. Vanjagenije (talk) 18:55, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Vanjagenije: Oops! No, I didn't know about those, but you're right, they'll need to request another change of username. Ks0stm (TCGE) 21:38, 24 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Vanjagenije and Ks0stm: Does he actually represent any of those companies, though? Dream Factory is generic enough that it's used separately by at least three entities, as per the above. If he is purporting no relation to any of these, I don't believe the username is an issue. Typically, we wait until an editor demonstrates promotional intent toward the product/company in their username before calling it a promotional username unless it is obvious. I don't believe it is here. ~ Rob13Talk 02:24, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@BU Rob13: I suppose I'd be willing to IAR it, but normally I'd apply {{uw-softerblock}} to this username even without promotional intent, since it whether it actually does or not it could be taken as such ("gives the appearance of"). If the account showed promotional intent I'd {{uw-spamublock}} it. Ks0stm (TCGE) 00:02, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
