In reference to reversion

[edit]

Hi, I hope this meets you well.. Please check the history of Cactus Jack Records, Malu Trevejo.. The pages keeps getting vandalised. Some users keeps vandalising these pages at will.

I wanted to report these pages for vandalism, however, I stopped because I read possible edits does not mean vandalism. Drino Ayo (talk) 09:20, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I know full well that the article has been in turmoil. It's protected because I asked for page protection [1].
And what does this have to do with your edit to the cited source? Per WP:UGC blogs are not generally considered to be reliable sources. Why are you insisting on replacing the existing source with a blog? Meters (talk) 09:26, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What's I'm trying to say is...

[edit]

That was actually the original link that was there and was on Malu Trevejo's page. That's the reason for changing the link.

Also, the title doesn't tally with the title on the blog the link directs to "Travis Scott signs Albjona Berisha to Cactus Jack Records" which shows that content and the link is of bad intent (at least from my own view.)

That's my main reason for changing the link to the one I found on Malu Trevejo's page. Drino Ayo (talk) 09:35, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It does not matter if a different source is used elsewhere, or if a different source was used originally in this article. The problem with title was simply vandalism. I've fixed it. Next time just do it yourself. Don't replace a decent source with a bare URL to a blog. And certainly don't restore it when your edit has already been undone once. Meters (talk) 09:47, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not understanding

[edit]

I clearly stated that her new song release on Spotify shows that the she is signed to Cactus Jack / Atlantic Records. The songs is under both record label. It would be illegal for her to release a song under the labels if she did not sign a contract with them. What else else is the problem?

It's there for you or anyone else to confirm. Please, may I know the reason why you still you still said the information is unsourced. Drino Ayo (talk) 05:53, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you claimed in your edit summary that her release is on that label. That's not a source. Anyone can claim anything in a summary. It's not up to us to check if your claim is valid and then add a source for you. If this is correct, then, as I said, Provide a reliable source in the article or do not restore this. Meters (talk) 06:30, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Noted can I do any of these?

[edit]

Noted. Will adding a link to the new song released on her Spotify count as a source? If no, can I add a link that leads to a report made by a site site seen on Twitter? (https://twitter.com/Rawphoric/status/1451413016751263758) Drino Ayo (talk) 06:47, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:V and WP:RS. Twitter is a user-generated site and thus is not generally a reliable source. Anyone can post anything. It can only be used in certain cases See WP:SELFPUBLISH and WP:TWITTER. Your Twitter ref does not appear to qualify. Even the source that that Twitter post is based on is questionable, since it is a blog. Perhaps HIPHOPMILL is considered a WP:NEWSBLOG but I suspect it would not qualify, and thus would fall under ]]WP:BLOGS]]. And at this point, even a reliable ref showing that her song had been released under the label would not qualify as proof that she was signed to the label. Perhaps it was a one-off deal to release the song, but she is not signed to the label. Meters (talk) 19:57, 22 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation.

[edit]

Alright. Well understood. Drino Ayo (talk) 07:03, 23 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

October 2022

[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Leah Kate. Muhandes (talk) 09:13, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What are you even saying? She announced the EP on her Instagram page via https://www.instagram.com/p/CixlKdwp89E/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

So what exactly is your point? Drino Ayo (talk) 09:16, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The point is that you were warned several times already not to add material without sources and you keep doing it. If the source is her Instagram, cite it. Please stop adding unsourced material. Muhandes (talk) 09:30, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You could have just asked me to cite my source and I'd have done just that instead of outright saying you'd ban me.

I have edited it and cited my source in the new version though. Thanks Drino Ayo (talk) 09:53, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I could have done that, and I would have done that, except you were warned many times before about adding unsourced information so I thought a harsher response was in place. Maybe I was wrong (and I apologize if you were hurt), but it did get a prompt response from you. You do seem to mean well, so just try to always cite your sources and it would be fine. By the way, you know you can delete everything from your talk page. Happy editing! Muhandes (talk) 10:02, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for you reply. Henceforth, I'd be careful with all my edit to ensure that they are all properly cited.

Thanks again! Drino Ayo (talk) 10:07, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
