Rex Ryan
Long time no see, Eagles! How are things? I'm currently working on bringing Ryan back to FAC and I was wondering if you may have any ideas and/or input in regards to whether or not I need to add or remove anything from the article before I list it. I'm not in a rush but if you have some spare time, I would appreciate your feedback. Thank you. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 17:00, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Tommie Frazier
Hey Eagles 24/7, Hope you're doing well.
Man, I was seeing how I need to start adding some of the offline sources I used to write portion's of Tommie Frazier's biography a while back.
I'll start with information from analyst Tom Lemming. Lemming rated Frazier as No. 3 in his Top 101 recruits from 1992. Here is the source: "Athlon Football - Nebraska & the Big Eight - 1992 Edition, Volume 16 (magazine)". The page where Lemming's Top 101 recruits is listed is page 131.
How do I make this as a citation, as I cannot locate on the web Lemming's Top 101 from so long ago?
You've helped me so much in the past, and I thank you for that. I'll shut up and listen. Rod Hayes (talk) 13:10, 30 July 2012 (UTC)
- Use {{cite journal}} and follow the documentation for parameter information and instructions. Eagles 24/7 (C) 00:27, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, Eagles 24/7. I will try to work that into action. Hope it isn't too complicated for me to grasp. Also, I found Tommie Frazier's Jesus quote (his grandmother was a very strong Christian, woman of faith) in Bob Schaller's book "Touchdown Tommie" on page 132. I think the info about coach Dr. Osborne being so happy that he cried when Frazier signed with Nebraska is in that book too. I have so many other things I have to accomplish today. I know what you said though. "There is no deadline". Rod Hayes (talk) 14:59, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
Wearing myself out, Eagles 24/7. I have been completing so many URLs converting them to true citations that I am about to give out! Hope you're doing OK. I was going to tell you that I've gotten back into working on football players' biographies. I have improved many, many of the bios that have been placed Wikipedia. I checked out a ACC team's quarterback's bio back in June, and I said to myself, "Man, I need to pick this up to help out with the quality and boost Wikipedia." Now, I just have to go back - when I have spare time - and complete some of those references I subbed in while not realizing how to cite them correctly. You're help with the "Cite Journal" info has done so much to lift me in the understanding of it all. Thanks.Rod Hayes (talk) 02:42, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
- No problem. Eagles 24/7 (C) 02:45, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
New England Patriots Roster spam reverts
I would like to report someone who is constantly reverting edits. On the roster I added Kareem Huggins as a FB(press release: http://www.patriots.com/news/article-1/Patriots-sign-two-Veteran-G-Robert-Gallery-retires/bcba3166-5242-416d-a655-1cd44903dc3b) and user ChrisJNelson (I don't know how to link user pages) continues to revert it back based on Wikipedia:Speculation because of his size. Also, he keeps putting Derrick Martin (a new signee) under Devin McCourty because he pronounces it MACCourty and somehow puts a mystical A there putting Devin's name AHEAD of Derrick. According to this, he is wrong http://www.mhhe.com/business/buscom/gregg/docs/appc.pdf (How to alphabetize) Can we please settle this with this user so the roster can be displayed correctly? Fresh Prince Carlton (talk) 05:30, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- He's tried to do the "McCourty goes before Mailei" thing several times before, and several discussions (which went nowhere) were started. I'm on your side in that debate. In regards to Huggins being listed as a fullback, I agree with Chris that we should keep tabs on that. However, since the only evidence we have of his position with the Patriots is fullback, he should be listed as a fullback for the time being. Belichick likes to move players around, so Huggins as a fullback, despite his size, wouldn't surprise me. Rotoworld is also on board for his conversion to fullback. Eagles 24/7 (C) 05:50, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up. I did some research, and the rules say you must ignore symbols and MAC always goes before Mc (and it's a preference on whether you say MIC or MAC). Yeah, I had no problem keeping tabs, I just know that speculation on Wiki is a mortal sin lol (hell, by tomorrow we should know along with his new number) How do we prevent an "edit war"? Or will you message him? Side joke, imagine alphabetize Belichick by how you spell his real last name which is spelt Bilicic with odd symbols above it. Fresh Prince Carlton (talk) 06:03, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- Find me something on Wikipedia saying Ma goes before Mc and I'll agree to it. But we've been doing it the way I'm editing it for a while now and external sources are irrelevant, because I can find just as many backing up my stance. I'm not going to back down solely because I've been banned in the past because I'm not doing anything wrong here.
- Additionally, while it is a moot point now that Huggins has been cut, but Rotoworld saying he's a fullback is irrelevant because they go straight off the source and don't know any better. ESPN Boston, for example, reported the signing solely as a running back.►Chris NelsonHolla! 17:33, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- And you'll notice that all other instances of this were done the way I was doing it, because apparently neither of you gave a crap about it until I made an edit.►Chris NelsonHolla! 17:43, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

Vandalism of Knowshon Moreno's Wiki biography
Hi Eagles 24/7. I just noticed Knowshon Moreno's Wiki late last night. Some kid got a hold of it. In the intro paragraph, you can clearly see a reference symbol sticking out - unnatural in appearance. Now, I am not familiar with how you go about clicking to remove a page that is damaged by Vandalism. I was hoping you could help out with this matter, thanks. Later, I will add Moreno's college stats Wiki box to his biography. Thanks,Rod Hayes (talk) 20:02, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
Somebody got on Moreno's bio and - it looks that - that person tried to add specific details to enhance Moreno's early history section. I could try and take that person's work - and fix it up. Just too tired right now. Someone also did some stat update after the vandalism too that is good Wiki work. I guess I will tweak the biography. Just wanting to let you know about the vandalism. conversion of CFB player to NFL player infoboxes
E247, an IP user (69.171.172.125) is converting the infoboxes of undergraduate football players to the NFL player infobox. Since all of these players are still undergrads, and the IP is adding NFL teams that have not drafted or singed these players, this appears to be intentional vandalism. Can you take a look? Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 02:50, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yep, vandalism. Reverted and warned. Eagles 24/7 (C) 04:00, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Am I Clinically Insane?
Hi Eagles,
I wanted to get your opinion on something. An IP wrote on my Talk page yesterday (My replies are on their TP) claiming their edit to Bill Parcells fixed a misalignment in the infobox however when I viewed it, it appeared the IP had did more harm than good. When I explained this to them by showing the diffs, they proceeded to tell me it must be my monitor because it was misaligned. I viewed the article on three separate monitors with no "special settings" on three different desktops/laptops and it has been fine every time. Can you tell me if I'm losing my mind (and need to replace a few monitors) or if this IP likes to test the patience of editors? -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 09:11, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, good ole Infobox NFL coach. The alignments are always wrong for one party when viewing articles with those infoboxes. I'd say the majority of monitors use your alignment, but it might just be easier to settle everything by switching the infobox over to Infobox NFL player, which also supports coach articles and doesn't have weird alignment issues. Eagles 24/7 (C) 16:22, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- Accursed coaches box. Alright, I'll change it and see if that helps. Thanks. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 00:01, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- Is there a way to insert the head coaching record in the template? I don't know if it's built in the structure already but if not perhaps this should be a consideration? -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 13:59, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- I've added the head coaching record parameters to Infobox NFL player, and they should be similar to the ones in Infobox NFL coach (just check the documentation first). Eagles 24/7 (C) 16:09, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks again for your help. Hopefully the switch will resolve all the issues now. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 16:50, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Bert Bell and the Eagles worst record ever
How do you fix this: "wherein Bell led the Eagles to a 1–11 finish, their worst record ever."
It's supposed to say "wherein Bell led the Eagles to an 1-11 finish, to date(some wikipedia template here) their worst record ever.
Ijustreadbooks (talk) 00:55, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- Same here: "Bell's coaching career ended with a 10–46–2 record, and for coaches with at least five years in the NFL, it was the worst record ever.(some wikipedia template here)" Ijustreadbooks (talk) 00:59, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- Also, the Pro Bowl looks to be going away within the next five years, maybe within the next 2 years. So that needs a fix also. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 01:12, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- I've cleaned up the "ever" by adding "(as of the {{currentyear}} season)" which renders as "(as of the 2012 season)" right now. I don't think the Pro Bowl is going anywhere right now, but changing that part to reflect a potential dismantling of the Pro Bowl would be original research. Eagles 24/7 (C) 01:56, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- Well, you're smarter than me. Last one: "and he created the foundation of the contemporary NFL anti-gambling policy." Maryland and Delaware are going to allow betting on football games soon, can you fix that. It's a whole bunch of stuff, but the NFL will not allow the Super Bowl to be played in states that allow gambling on football. The NFL is going to lose, eventually every state in the Union will allow betting on football games because they want to tax the proceeds. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 02:17, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- I am sooo grateful for all your help! Ijustreadbooks (talk) 02:18, 18 August 2012 (UTC)
- When Maryland and Delaware actually go through with it, we can change it then. Still jumping the gun here. Eagles 24/7 (C) 02:47, 18 August 2012 (UTC)

Right now, the big hitters are:
- the last 3 years of the Eagles - I need more research
the Steelers; it's WWII, there is not much info out there, and I'll fix the Pennsylvania Polka thingiefixed; I hope it meets your guidelines- the personality of Bell - looks to be I can put in Bell's personal involvement with opposing gamblers, good info there, and kicking out Ed Kiely out of his box seats for criticing officials, other than that I think for an encyclopedia article I think I am good to go on bring Bert Bell to life

Biggest to-do NFL
Hello Eagles247, I am in one of my spurts of activeness on Wikipedia and noticed that I still have the "this user participates in the NFL wiki-project" thing on my userpage and thought that I should, you know, participate in the aforementioned project. Looking at the to-do list, I couldn't tell what was the highest priority and thought you, being a right-minded NFL fan (Go Eagles!) could direct me on something that needs done. Have a good day. Go Phightins! (talk) 01:34, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- The most productive thing you can do (which is partly what I'm doing) is clean up some articles. I've found that many not-so well known rookies and veterans have very messy pages (especially offensive linemen and special teamers), and a going-through of them will benefit the project. I'd say the project itself is semi-inactive, however. You could also add references to articles that don't have many or any. Eagles 24/7 (C) 01:50, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, few wiki-projects seem to be very active. I'll clean up some lesser-known players pages. Thanks for the advice. Knew I could count on an Eagles fan. Go Phightins! (talk) 02:20, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
bert bell and kenny washington
I had to override you. I have well over 500 edits since your peer review. I humbly and respectfully believe the Bert Bell article can not include the fact that Kenny Washington was a running back. The Wikipedia Article on KW should decide whether KW was a rb, a qb, or whatever and it's way off topic. Just because I disagree with u on this does NOT mean i do not have the utmost respect for u. KW as a rb is deleted without prejudice. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:31, 23 August 2012 (UTC) Ijustreadbooks (talk) 04:35, 23 August 2012 (UTC)fix grammar

and btw on bert bell
This is a crucial crucial crucial article. I hope you will continue to assist me. I think he is just nothing short of lovable. I hope, I realize his sons are still significant public figures and they still love their father very much, and really most of all the article should show that Bell eschewed his blue-blood heritage to make the NFL a blue collar successful enterprise. You are missing some stuff, but one of his son's (i forget which one) nailed it down; Bell was not focused on commercialism but more on ..................*think* the game. Greatest Redskins navbox
What's your take on this: Template:The 80 Greatest Redskins? Is this an acceptable navbox, or does this have notability, subjectivity and cruftiness problems? Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 19:07, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
- I'd compare that to Template:Eagles75, but I'm not sure either are acceptable. Could always nominate it and see what others think. Eagles 24/7 (C) 21:42, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
Bert Bell and the Pro Bowl
I don't know what to do about it. The Pro Bowl is under attack everywhere. The Pro Bowl is part of his legacy. In order to keep npov, I have to update the article that the Pro Bowl is under attack. This is not original research. This is a tough balancing act because the Pro Bowl article should really be the primary focal point for this controversy. It's really complicated for me to handle. Any input you have would be greatly appreciated with respect to how to handle this in the legacy section of the Bell article. Me personally, I think the Pro Bowl will end within the next 5 years. As of now, there is no finality to whether or not the Pro Bowl is a viable entity in the NFL. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 01:54, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- I am going to go with (unless u have any complaints) "At least as early as SOMEYEAR the Pro Bowl was considered" ...blah blah blah (citation here) - and put it in the legacy. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 01:57, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- I think you might be missing something in the history of the NFL. Basically it worked like this, Arch Ward established the College All-Stars vs. the NFL Champions game circa 1938 and it was a monumentally successful financial venture. Eventually, the NFL champion's began destroying the College All-Stars in the game. Hence, Bell created the Pro Bowl which pitted professional football players against other professional football players because college football players were no match. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 02:06, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- The fact that some people support the removal of the Pro Bowl (62 years after Bell "authorized" of its existence) does not hold any significant weight to Bell's legacy IMO, and I would remove it. Maybe a mention of the Playoff Bowl would be more relevant there. Eagles 24/7 (C) 04:10, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- At first glance, I did not agree with you. Then I thought about it. Yeah, let the Pro Bowl article editors figure out what to do with it. It's a loose end in the Bell article, but there is a full blown Wikipedia article to deal with the Pro Bowl. I deleted the whole sentence in his legacy without prejudice; Thanks! Not much more to go, just a trip to the Philadelphia library and get that further reading book. 3000 edits, wow. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 05:52, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

bert bell:pomp and circumstance
to make a long story short; one of his sons are right. Bell was, at heart, a blue-collar guy. It's supposed to come out in my edits. To make a long story short, one of his sons resigned from an executive position during the 1960s (i think it was w the Baltimore colts) over Rozelle's transformation of the Super Bowl into a media spectacle. I believe I have faithfully reproduced his passion for the game and supported it with citations, but not gone overboard. I could add one anecdote on his anti-gambling stance but I feel it is not necessary. I only think 1936-1939, and of course WWII, is a problem. WWII will always be a problem - there is nothing I can do about missing info during WWII - it's a blackhole. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 06:08, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- I just looked at the talk page history of Bert Bell. You did a peer review on July 15 2012. I clicked on the history tab and then extended it to 500 edits and then clicked older 500 edits, your criticism of the article stating it "needed to be cleaned up" was indisputable but it exists more than 1000 ago. 1000 edits was lots of cleaning up. I am in a holding pattern until I can clean up 1936-1939. Right now, I think the article is rock solid on *gulp* I would put it against other article on Wikipedia (with the obvious caveat that some people on Wikipedia are just mind-blowingly intelligent.) I am closing down operations on the Bell article. Most of my edits are 1 step forward and 1 step backwards at the same time. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 03:00, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
fix required on the owners of the eagles in 1940
Alexis Thompson did not own the eagles until 1941. It's messed up in some kind of template thing in the Bert Bell article. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 03:45, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
You need to fix that. That's a template among many different articles. Thompson did NOT own the eagles in 1940 as far as the NFL season is concerned. Yes, he bought the franchise in December 1940 but the sale only took effect for the 1941 season. As an Eagles fan, it's your responsibility to fix this.If you don't, of course,I am already tracking down how to dispute this template. Ijustreadbooks (talk) 03:58, 27 August 2012 (UTC)- Well, maybe I phrased this wrongly. I have readjusted my edit and am beginning to track down how to fix this inaccuracy in the Bell article.
