Welcome

[edit]

Hi there. Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like it here and stick around. If you want, you can drop us a note at Wikipedia:New user log to introduce yourself.

Before you start doing a lot of editing, you might want to take the Tutorial. It gives a lot of basic info you'll want to get you oriented on Wikipedia.

You can sign your name on discussion pages by using three tildes (" ~~~ ") for your username and four (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp.

FYI, I reverted your last edit on Maj. Gen. Mohamed Zahir because it was a wiki syntax error. However, your contributions to our encyclopedia are welcome! Check out Help:Editing if you want to learn about how to edit pages.

If you have any other questions about the project, then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Help desk. You can also drop me a question on my talk page. --Tschel 13:55, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you tag the image with an appropriate copyright tag, it will soon be deleted. You can find them here. Thanks! --Oblivious 09:35, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Slow down mate. Now you have uploaded Image:ChiefofStaffMaldives.jpg and we have two redundant images. What you need to do is tag the image properly (a tag that fits). Need help? Let me know. --Oblivious 09:53, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:22zahir.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:22zahir.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:16, 7 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 21:16, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The file File:Mohamedzahir.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused, unclear use/purpose

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
