Welcome!

[edit]
Some cookies to welcome you! :D
Welcome to Wikipedia, ElphaPearl! I am Auawise and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Couple of Hints

[edit]

Hey! I just wanted to give you a couple of hints that might help you in your editing here...
ORIGINAL not ORIGIONAL
CHARACTER not CHARICTER
COMPONENT not COMPONANT
If spelling is a problem, you might find it useful to run Firefox which has a built-in spell-check.

Also, when commenting on a talk page, using :(colon) insets your comment like this. You can use two, three, four, always one more than the person who posted before you to create an easily-read thread of comments.

Read through the edit pages but don't change anything, to learn how the different tags work and how to use them. Also, please remember that this is an encyclopaedia. It is not a personal website! If you want somewhere to put your opinions and to write about your favourite subjects, start your own website. Editing Wikipedia is to improve the quality of the information for the readers. It is NOT about YOU. Belle pullman (talk) 11:36, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

February 2008

[edit]

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Thomas the Tank Engine. Your edits appear to be vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. Gwernol 13:45, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The information was correct. ElphaPearl (talk) 14:11, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No, I'm afraid it isn't. Starlight Express is not based on Thomas the Tank Engine. Please read the Starlight Express article, which clearly explains that Weber failed to get permission to create a musical based on Awdry's works. Instead he created Starlight Express, that is based on Weber's own train stories. The musical is unrelated to anything Awdry wrote. Gwernol 14:48, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spelling

[edit]

While many of your contributions are helpful, I have to note that you have introduced a number of spelling errors into articles you have edited. Could I suggest you use a spell checker to help you with your edits? Thanks, Gwernol 13:55, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Firefox has a spellchecker add-on you can easily add. It uses American spelling(even if you choose UK English, but that's a small disadvantage), but it is still extremely helpful. Also Firefox is less likely to crash and burn than Internet Explorer. Mazz0626 (talk) 19:35, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Notable Songs from Starlight Express

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Notable Songs from Starlight Express, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Fact checking - give it a try!

[edit]

Could you please check your facts before making multiple edits? You have been adding a lot of inaccurate information recently. Also, could you please, please, attempt to write in an encyclopaedic style? Copy-editing to correct your edits takes far longer than necessary.

ALSO, please consider what is encyclopaedic. Individual songs from Starlight Express are not notable - the music from Les Miserables, a far more widely known show, has just one page dedicated to information about all the songs. If you want to write a Starlight Express fansite with your own opinions, please do. There aren't enough Starlight fansites around! But your edits are not objective and accurate to multiple productions. If you're going to edit so much, please get it right. Belle pullman (talk) 21:15, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I always try to make sure that my edits are truthful, but my source of information and knowledge of Starlight Express depends massively on fan sites and other internet sources. As for the song page, it seemed like a good idea. But if Starlight Express is not notable enough to have a song page, then I have no objection to it's deletion. ElphaPearl (talk) 18:35, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Raffaella Carra

[edit]

You seem to have mis-understood Raffaella Carra's contribution to the world of Starlight Express. She appears to have had a TV show where she performed specials themed on a musical. You've obviously seen her Starlight one, there's also various others including a stunning Cats medley. However, this does not mean she PLAYED Pearl (Or Grizabella for that matter). Singing songs from a show DOES NOT qualify you as having been part of the cast! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Belle pullman (talkcontribs) 23:02, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of 2nd and 3rd class Sleepers

[edit]

I have nominated 2nd and 3rd class Sleepers, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2nd and 3rd class Sleepers. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Proposed deletion of A Lotta Locomotion

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article A Lotta Locomotion, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

nn musical show No secondary sources given
