July 2023[edit]

Information icon Hi Elttaruuu! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Frimatic–de Gribaldy that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. As per Help_talk:Minor_edit/Archive_2#A_quick_question_I_don't_see_stated_on_this_page short descriptions are not minor edits. Paulpat99 (talk) 05:05, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Self published sources[edit]

Please see WP:RS and WP:RSP. Self published sources like YouTube and Substack as you recently used in Josephine Byrd are largely inappropriate for use in Wikipedia articles both from reliability and neutrality point of view. Articles should present things neutrally and not promote the subject or insert undue contents.

Instagram and Twitter for the most part are considered the same as Facebook posts. Please do not make edits like this sourced from social media. While Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube links are not absolutely banned, their usage is appropriate only in very limited situations. Graywalls (talk) 07:53, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Article talk pages[edit]

Please do not blank article talk pages. Will you please restore all the comments you have removed? Thank you. Innisfree987 (talk) 18:49, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My bad—I’ve seen a lot of people do this with none of them getting corrected. I thought it was a way of archiving clutter of resolved discussions. Is there a way to do this or should content be left on the talk page forever? Elttaruuu (talk) 19:26, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I see you also blanked what you left on my talk page. It's up to you if you want to blank your own page (this page) per WP:BLANKING but blanking article talk page or other user's talk page is a no no. Graywalls (talk) 21:28, 22 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If a talk page has gotten so long that it can’t easily be navigated, then it’s appropriate to set up an archive. But the article talk page must link to that archive and you should not preemptively archive comments that may still be relevant to other editors. You removed comments from pages with only very brief and/or still germane discussion. Please do not do that even if archiving correctly. Innisfree987 (talk) 00:38, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please be more careful to check whether you’ve actually made the corrections. When I checked to be sure, I found five more pages where you reverted your most recent edit but did not actually restore the missing content. Innisfree987 (talk) 17:59, 23 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
