- I've tried moving my new article into the mainspace as all the help resources have suggested, but last week it was moved back to draft by another user. Can someone help me understand what needs to be done to move this article to mainspace? I've been an autoconfirmed user for quite a few days now. Erdnusscreme7 (talk) 14:51, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
Draft articles
[edit]Please do not move draft articles directly to main space. Draft articles need to be reviewed by experienced editors before being accepted into mainspace. I have moved your recent article move back to Draft. Thank you. Velella Velella Talk 19:02, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Velella, apologies, I am new to Wikipedia and have only done a few edits thus far. Do I need to take any further actions on new drafts so that an experienced editor can review them? Erdnusscreme7 (talk) 19:07, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
- The reason I moved it back to Draft is because while it is a draft it is somewhat protected from deletion discussions. In main space it is subject to full scrutiny of other editors and may be deleted. My view was that the article did not meet the notability criteria and was therefore at risk of deletion. However, it looked the sort of article that might, with some development , meet the notability criteria. Because of this I was loath to set out on the deletion process but thought you might like more time to refine it. I have added the review template so that it should now be reviewed by other experienced editors who may either accept it into mainspace or provide useful feed-back. I hope that that helps. - Thank you, this is really helpful. This is a peanut butter company that's been spreading its presence across the US and Canada. I figured that because there are quite a few articles from reputable publications on this company, it would meet the notability criteria. Erdnusscreme7 (talk) 15:12, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
- @Erdnusscreme7: Be sure to stop by this page and take a look at the notability requirements for Wikipedia. It's a fairly short and easy-to-red article with a lot of the answers you're looking for. If you need any other assistance, please feel free to talk to me and I'll provide what help I can. Operator873CONNECT 17:02, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
