Help from Hindi Wiki

Hello Faiz,

We have articles on hindi wiki about Islam. Can you please read through them and let us know if something is objectionable. We do not have any body on hindi wiki with knowledge of Islam. If you are not available please suggest any body who can help us on it. You can read an article on Islam at hi:इस्लाम and portal on Islam is at hi:प्रवेशद्वार:इस्लाम. If you can contribute on this topic it would be a great help. There is not much information available on Islam in hind. Regards,Gunjan (talk) 04:25, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

hello

Salamalaykum brother, I just wanted to ask somethings and I hope you would be so kind as to reply or answer them. I am interested in studying Islam history, and there are things that I just was not clear about and I need clarification. There are issues about a)slavery and how many African Muslim brothers and sisters were enslaved by Islamic expansionists, and also about anti Jewish sentiment in the Qur'an. I understand there is alot of propaganda and bias and against this religion, I just wanted to inquire about it. Thanks.

Pictures

Wa Salam Syed Mohammad,

Yeah I think I made a mistake when i listed them as my own work. Apart from basic editing, I am slightly ignorant in other aspects of wikipedia, such as images. If you can help brother, that would be much appriciated.--IsaKazimi (talk) 16:12, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

I cannot remember the source I'm afraid. I have had those pictures for quite a while which is why I thought I should upload them. I think that they were sent to me, so i am assuming the sender got them from the internet.--IsaKazimi (talk) 16:47, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

I am not Iranian. I just wrote 'Kazimi' become it means calm. :-)--IsaKazimi (talk) 16:56, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

I don't think he did take them. Except maybe the one of Zanjani, because I know he has met him.--IsaKazimi (talk) 17:06, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Insha'allah, I will find out.--IsaKazimi (talk) 23:44, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

No, he didn't take it himself unfortunately :( However, I am confused brother. The picture I have uploaded of 'Ali al-Sistani (the current one on his page) is from the internet. Yet Wikipedia do not seem to have a problem with that.--IsaKazimi (talk) 14:31, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Mohsina Kidwai 1985.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Mohsina Kidwai 1985.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. HaeB (talk) 02:23, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Maraji Page

Salam Ya Sayyid, I am just letting you know that the suggesstions list has been made into a table in which you have a column where you can tick the suggesstions you agree with. Syed Nedian and myself have already done so. So once you do, we can all concentrate on our differences and work to a concensus.--عيسى (talk) 23:21, 13 November 2009 (UTC)

Decision Time

Salam Ya Sayed,

I think it is time that we try and reach a concensus on the maraji page, don't you think?--عيسى (talk) 15:24, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Ok, see you on the talk page then--عيسى (talk) 10:44, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

Deleting your Note

Dear Mr. Faizhaider

Salam

The user Linux4ns has been used to delete the same words form deferent pages of Wikipedia (including list of Marjas ) more than 50 times, since he started editing in Wiki. He did not have any other contribution except deleting the name of Ayatollah Hosseini Nassab. Several users asked him to stop, but he does not respect anybody. You also have mentioned that on his discussion page and asked him to stop, but he deleted your note from his discussion page [|here] and is keeping deleting the same words without any correct reasoning. This issue causes wasting a lot of time of other users. Academycanada (talk) 02:57, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Recalcitrance

I'm sorry but I will go against the article this time, unless some verifiable reference is provided , like the mention of this novel in some credible newspaper etc.If the author of the article could provide so, I will support the article. Taking Flicker, blogger sites as reference is not possible.Anyway thanks for inviting me for deletion discussion on the article... :)  arun  talk  10:03, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Canvassing

I realize that this may not be your intention, but your recent posts on multiple users talkpages about the AFD for the article Recalcitrance is likely to be regarded as canvassing, which is frowned upon on wikipedia. It would be best if you self-reverted your posts from those users' pages. In general, the best way to retain an article is to find reliable sources and add them to the article, so that its notability is apparent. If such sources are found, I and other reviewers at the AFD will be happy to change our votes. Let me know if you have any questions. Abecedare (talk) 10:30, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

I don't doubt your intention, but urge you to read Wikipedia:CANVASS#Excessive_cross-posting, and stop the mass cross-posting. Note that the deletion is already listed at WP:DSI and Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Literature, so that editors in the related projects are aware of it (if they are interested). Abecedare (talk) 10:46, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
You can always list the deletion on various noticeboards. Note also that including specific recommendations on what to do, as you have done here, is definitely against the canvassing guideline. You should consider self-reverting the messages. --RegentsPark (sticks and stones) 15:26, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

A message about editing the article, Muhammad's wives

Hello Mr. Syed

I just received a message from you regarding the edition of the article, Muhammad's wives.

I aplogise if I had broken any rules and regulations of Wikipedia. However, some information in that article is particularly misleading and some are untrue. In this article, there are mentions of an adopted son of the prophet Muhammad. However, in Islam it is not allowed to adopt a child (in a sense of changing his identity) but rather foster them (in a sense of upbringing them in the loveliest way possible). That is why I changed all the 'adopted's to 'fostered's. And this is not unsubstantiated, as it is widely regarded as the ruling of Islam.

Here is a link to help you out with: http://www.islamonline.net/servlet/Satellite?pagename=Islamonline-English-Ask_Scholar/FatwaE/FatwaE&cid=1119503544668

Also, the age of Aiysha when she was married to Muhammad was a matter of debate for quite long. However, recent research and calculations after taking several other historic evidences into count successfully show that she was not 6 or 9 years old when she got married and her marriage got consummated, unlike some who suggested otherwise previously.

I would be obliged if you have a look at this website and the proof it has provided alongwith in this regard: http://www.ilovezakirnaik.com/madamayeshah/index.htm

Thank you.

Disregarding the rules

Dear Mr. Faizhaider

Salam

The user Linux4ns is continuing deletion and he has deleted your 2 notes [|here] again. Academycanada (talk) 06:26, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Re:List of Shia mosques in NCR tile translation

Dear Faizhaider, I hope you are doing well too. I thought it might be beneficial to have the scripts read the same words since both translations (mine and yours) can be considered Hindi although yours is a bit more Sanskritized (click here). I corrected the Urdu in the heading that was incorrect as well. For example, the spelling of داراُلحُکومت was incorrect. I hope this helps. With regards, AnupamTalk 00:57, 3 December 2009 (UTC)

Table

Dear Sayed Mohammad,

I have altered the table and also I have asked Sayyid Musa (Verdict) to try and get the missing pictures for the table.--عيسى (talk) 15:34, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Salam,

I think because the list of dead maraji is so long, it should have it's own page now. Also, I think the page 'List of marjas' should be renamed 'List of Grand Ayatollahs' because apart from the Shi'a, not many people know what a marja is.--عيسى (talk) 17:32, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Also, I think the page for the deceased ones should be something different. Since most of the ones listed were not marja. In fact, the system of marjaiyat is quite recent. So maybe something like 'List of deceased Shia scholars' would be appropiate.--عيسى (talk) 11:28, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
Yes, take your time brother and Muharram Mubarak.--عيسى (talk) 11:58, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
Lol, it means have a blessed Muharram.--عيسى (talk) 16:30, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
Oh I see. Where I am from, we do. Because we mean it as in blessed. So Muharram is still a holy month for us. We say Mubarak for all the blessed months. Sa'id is used to mean happy. Like 'Id Sa'id. So we make a distinction between Mubarak and Sa'id. Maybe it is different in your culture. Forgive me anyway brother :-) --عيسى (talk) 22:36, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

As-Salamu 'Alaykum, I notice you have expanded your table. Just let me know if you need any pictures brother. Also, I noticed your little dispute with akhi Isa. When I once traveled to Azerbaijan, some people say Muharram mobarak there. So it is probably a culteral thing. Anyway...Ya Husayn!--Theverdict111 (talk) 01:01, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Sorry mate!

This is re your message on 'Recalcitrance' - sorry I dont normally login into Wikipedia any more.

The same gang (I still remember all those names) - Ragib (the licker), Fowler (the racist) and others again. They are the ones who made me retire :).

All the best. Mail me if you really need me for something, but I doubt if its of use trying to present Indian POV on Wikipedia. This forum is full of racist British and licking Indians. The intelligent and self-respecting Indians are expected to keep adding to the 'sum total of human knowledge' in all other fields, while the whites are expected to keep rewriting or overwriting history to prove their (and their faith's) supremacy through and through...
