[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 17:30, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
- Dear MrOllie, apologies for the misunderstanding about the edits that I have intended to make. I am new to wikipedia, and by no means intending to Spam. I am an scholar and practitioner in the field of eco-innovation (see https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=C9zrPQ8AAAAJ&hl=en&authuser=1), and together with some notable academics in this field we reviewed the definition in Wikipedia and agreed to edit this concept (as we believe it contains incomplete and inaccurate information). What I have attempted to do (2) is to provide readers with a complete overview of the main programmes/references to the projects and initiatives that are working on this field (European Commission, UN Environment, etc). (2) to correct the incomplete description about the types of ecoinnovation (section: examples can be converted into a classification and types). The Maastricht Manual for the Measurement of Ecoinnovation is the most authoritative reference in this field, and it was used as the basis for the proposed edit. The URL links inserted in the edits are not commercial nor intend to sell services or products, nor to promote an individual. I'd be grateful to learn more how to better contribute to this very important project. Thank you in advance for your guidance. Best regards, Dr. F. - Since Wikipedia is WP:NOT a directory, lists of programmes, projects, and initiatives (and external links to those things) are off topic for this website. Including citations to things authored or co-authored by yourself is also considered a form of conflict of interest editing here, as is inserting links to groups you are a member of - that is against Wikipedia's guidelines. It does not matter if the links involved are commercial or not - Wikipedia uses the same link guidelines regardless. MrOllie (talk) 22:10, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
Please stop. If you continue to add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. MrOllie (talk) 18:03, 23 March 2024 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Eco-innovation. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines.
