Minoxidil image
[edit]Hi, I've done the image you've requested but as I'm not a chemist I'm unable to describe it properly. I also don't know why it's different from the existing Minoxidil formula diagrams, as such I'm not comfortable replacing the article's existing image, other than the conversion I did on the existing image. If you could tell me the appropriate description and explain why the article should have the new image I'd be very grateful. Cheers. --Fred the Oyster (talk) 12:03, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Hi Fred, it seems the image wasn't loading or something yesterday as it appears there now. This, of course, makes me look like an idiot as the one I gave you and the existing image are simply rotated differently. Anyways, that aside the page is fine now, with the correct molecular structures in place. Perhaps it was to do with wiki's downtime, I know that the page was up and down erratically yesterday. Thanks for your time though :) FruitywS (talk) 12:30, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
- I don't know if it's relevant but the two images are subtly different. The existing one doesn't have the + and - characters and one says NH2 and the other says H2N. As I said, I'm not a chemist and school was an awfully long time ago :). --Fred the Oyster (talk) 12:38, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Its ok as it is, the existing image has the lines going to the N as it is in fact the atom which links the ring structure and the H. The +/- signs show where the charge on the molecule lies, so it's better to have them included than not. Can I ask you here how to embed an image? When I requested help with you, I had to use tinypic instead as I couldn't figure it out. I'm only used to BBcode for forums.
- You can't embed external images in WP pages. The image has to exist either on en.wikipedia or on commons.wikipedia. You then just use a File: link. The help page for image use is at WP:IMAGE. I hope that helps. --Fred the Oyster (talk) 14:23, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Redirects
[edit]Feel free to fix /add those redirects. It is easy to do. On the page you wish to go to another page type #redirect[[page it is to redirect to]] Cheers Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 19:30, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
