The article The wild mercury sound has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced. Ghits do not produce any results that suggest notability per WP:BAND

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I think I've fixed the problem can you please let me know, I don't want this page deleting.

thanks

The only references I see are a link to the BBC, and a link to the band's own website. The band's site doesn't work as a reference, since it's not independent of the subject - they're necessarily biased about themselves. As for the BBC interview - that might help, but it's not sufficient by itself. Are there news articles that discuss the group? Perhaps a stop at Google News might reveal something. Here's a set of links that may be useful in finding sources. (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL) UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 13:36, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Right I have now put 45 references up, is this enough? thanks, Gareth
You have a lot of references, but many of them don't count as far as notability is concerned. Everything from a blog, for example, doesn't count as a reference - anyone can get a blog and talk about anything. See also our reliable sources policy. I haven't gone link-by-link, but I do see multiple blogspot links, and that was my first impression. There are also issues of format that may need work. Ok....well blogs are mostly what is online, how can I point you in the direction of press clippings etc? Is there some where I can upload them or something?

Some of the links are also to our management company, we manage Madness, Clive Langer & Alan Winstanley (who have produced David Bowie, Bush, Elvis Costello etc), Owen Morris (who has produced Oasis, The Verve, Ash etc) to name but a few, the bands booking agent, Steve Strange (who also represents Coldplay, Eminem, Snow Patrol etc). Surely this holds some weight!? Steve is up for agent of the year tomorrow...(http://www.livemusicawards.co.uk/voting/). Neither us or Steve would be working with the band if we didn't think there where well on there way to being notable.

The page is not in imminent danger of deletion. I suggest you read WP:BFAQ.  Chzz  ►  21:45, 5 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article The Wild Mercury Sound has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability concerns; I just removed 34 dead and invalid refs; basically a PR piece for a band that never took off
