Nomination For Admin
[edit]I was previously Patricio934, now I am Mysteryman44. Anyway I was wondering if you would nominate me to be an admin. You have seen the page I created about my neighborhood, and you cleaned it up a bit, which I appreciate. I also love this website and would love to be an admin so I can help some people, and help track down vandalism, and revert it. Would you please consider nominating me for admin.-Mysteryman44
Chaska High School Page
[edit]I was recently sent a notice by you about the "vandalism" of the chaska high school page. I am currently a senior at this school and i was wondering how and specifically what i did that constituted as vandalism to that page. me along with another senior have been posting what we consider important in formation about the page. So i would just like to know what specifically i did again to vandalize the Chaska high school page.

[edit]citation style - the Ave & Ravenna, Seattle, Washington
[edit]Thank you for your interest in the citation style on this page, I recently updated the Ravenna, Seattle, Washington references to get away from how the Ave article is currently, but my efforts were revereted by GoDot who is also responcible for how the Ave article is referenced. A discussion has just started on the Ravenna neighborhood's talk page to try and sort this issue out, your input there would be appreciated.

Minneapolis: Central neighborhood vs Central community
[edit]An article already exists on the Central neighborhood in South Minneapolis (the Minneapolis neighborhoods template has now been edited to link to this already existing article). Central, Minneapolis was the article for the Central community (consisting of several neighborhoods in and around downtown Minneapolis). "Community" and "neighborhood" are two different things in Minneapolis; see Neighborhoods of Minneapolis if there is any confusion about this. By editing the old Central, Minneapolis article to instead describe the neighborhood in South Minneapolis, it eliminates altogether an article for the Central community, and creates an extra article for a neighborhood that already has one. From BPRoy
[edit]An explanation for what a sock puppet is: Say you wrote a page and someone wanted to delete it. You argue as your own user name against deletion. This doesn't go anywhere because other people are getting involved with the arguement and they are against you too. So you start a second wikipedia account and pretend that you are someone else arguing on your side. This second account is your "sock puppet".
Hope this was helpful!
Fair use rationale for Image:Adrenaline Rush The science of risk.jpg
[edit]This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Adrenaline Rush The science of risk.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
(Also, I tagged Image:'''Adrenaline Rush The science of risk'''.jpg as a candidate for speedy deletion because it is an orphaned fair use image. I assumed you uploaded it and then uploaded this better quality one, and so it is no longer necessary.)

Image:PromoJulieNELSON.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:PromoJulieNELSON.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- PageantUpdater • talk | contribs | esperanza 00:31, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Eden prairie.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Eden prairie.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:BigWu0c.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:BigWu0c.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Image copyright problem with Image:Gradxuatereadingroom.JPG
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Gradxuatereadingroom.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. MER-C 05:58, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
