If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on J.P. Harding requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 19:20, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation[edit]

Hello, Ggg phew. WP:FIXDABLINKS says:

A code of honor for creating disambiguation pages is to fix all resulting mis-directed links.
Before moving an article to a qualified name (in order to create a disambiguation page at the base name, or to move an existing disambiguation page to that name), click on What links here to find all of the incoming links. Repair all of those incoming links to use the new article name.

Unfortunately, you did not do this before moving EC number to a different title and then changing the old title to a disambiguation page. That left dozens of templates used on over 6,000 Wikipedia articles that contain links to "EC number" and now need to be corrected to link to the correct article. Your assistance in cleaning this up would be greatly appreciated. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 10:16, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

  • I would strongly suggest that you participate in this debate, as all lists that you have created are now being discussed there. For the moment, all !votes are to delete them, so creating new ones at this point is not really a good use of your time. If there are any compelling reasons to keep these lists, you should give them at the AfD discussion. --Guillaume2303 (talk) 07:52, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop creating lists of EINECS substances[edit]

Per Wp:NOT, it's not clear that these articles are appropriate for Wikipedia. Please stop. Toddst1 (talk) 21:33, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't finished yet. You can't judge until I've finished. Ggg phew (talk) 21:34, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Look, you're being disruptive. If you don't stop, you will be blocked. Toddst1 (talk) 21:39, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understnad. I'm not being disruptive, and what's a block?
Oh I see what a block is now. What's a Creating attack, nonsense or other inappropriate pages?
Creating inappropriate pages per WP:NOTDIR is what you've been blocked for. Toddst1 (talk) 21:47, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't. I was creating elgitimate pages. AS you can see, it's not complete:

{{EINECS substances}}

Who can unblock me so that I can complete them? I was hoping to complete them tonight.

I also went to Wikipedia:NOTDIR but there's nothing in there about this.

In the block message that you removed, there were instructions for how to request to be unblocked. However, I recommend that you not be unblocked since you are intent on creating pages that consensus appears to think are inappropriate (if you don't believe this administrator's perspective on WP:NOTDIR). Toddst1 (talk) 22:01, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
huh?? whatever. I'll try and finish it tomorrow then. Ggg phew (talk) 22:04, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not continue to create these articles when your block expires. You will be reblocked, perhaps indefinitely. Toddst1 (talk) 22:06, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Probably not. I need to finish them, and I can't see that all admins will be take an equally strange standpoint.

I would have put them into one article but it complained that it was too long, hence I split them into 111 sections. I did 31 of them (29% for you), I also did another one but for some really bizarre reason that I don't understand it was deleted. I will have to make that one again.

  • Please read the AfD discussion. You will see that Toddst1 is not the only one here thinking that these articles are inappropriate. The lists were taken to AfD by DGG, one of the strongest proponents of inclusionism here on WP, so it is unlikely that you'll find an established editor who agrees with you. You seem to know a lot about chemistry and probably have a lot to contribute to WP. However, what you have to realize is that it is neither you, nor I, not Toddst1 for that matter who makes the rules here, it's the community that does that. If you manage to collaborate, your contributions would certainly be welcomed. If you insist on inserting material that according to consensus is inappropriate, you'll probably remain blocked indefinitely (and any new account that you would make to circumvent the block would end up indef blocked very soon, too. Please think about this. --Guillaume2303 (talk) 23:26, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

December 2011[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for stating you will continue your disruptive behavior (creating inappropriate articles per WP:NOTDIR) after block expires. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Toddst1 (talk) 22:39, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Why? when can I finish my work?
I need to finish my work. Do you even know what a chemical is?
Of course I do. They're not really brothers, Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons just work together. Toddst1 (talk) 23:38, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
