Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to United States, did not appear constructive and have been undone. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Please do not continue to edit and reorder the demographic information in the infobox at United States, especially without explaining or giving sources for your changes. If you have concerns about the way the information is presented, you need to discuss them on the talk page, per WP:BRD. Dhtwiki (talk) 04:33, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries, multiple consecutive edits

[edit]

Hello-

  • Please make a habit of providing an edit summary when you make a change to an article. Doing so makes it easier for your colleagues here to understand the intention of your edit.
  • Plus, it will be easier for you and your co-editors to collaborate on articles if, instead of making multiple consecutive edits in rapid succession on an article, you use the "Show preview" button to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits. This keeps the page history of the article less cluttered.

Thanks in advance for considering these suggestions. Eric talk 12:30, 28 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

move of Passamaquoddy to Peskotomuhkati

[edit]

Hello- You may want to consult Wikipedia:Moving_a_page#Before_moving_a_page and Wikipedia:Article_titles#Use_commonly_recognizable_names, as well as other potentially interested editors, before you make another unilateral page move like this one. We generally discuss such ideas with other editors, especially those who have worked on the given article, before we make a potentially controversial move. A tag has been placed on File:Peskotomuhkati men in Canoe.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
