Read WP:Your first article for general advice. If you want to take time developing an article, see HelP;userspace draft for how to start one in your user space and move it to the main encyclopedia when it's ready, avoiding the risk of it being deleted if it is posted while incomplete. You can ask for comment on your draft, if you like, at WP:Requests for feedback.

WP:Notability is the Wikipedia term for being of enough general interest to have an encyclopedia article. It is not acquired indirectly by being related to notable people, and is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, Facebook, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website, affiliated ones and anything based on press releases. The test is, have people unconnected with the subject thought them important and significant to write substantial comment about?
