Welcome[edit]

Hello Globies and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions, such as the ones to the page Johnny Manziel, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! A guy saved by Jesus (talk) 19:13, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What part of the change to Johnny Manziel's page that we made did not follow policies? It was a factual edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Globies (talkcontribs)

It may have been factual, but you did not provide any links to reliable sources outside of Wikipedia that verify the information. Also, please remember to always put the four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your talk page comments, as that will automatically generate a signature with your username and a timestamp. --A guy saved by Jesus (talk) 19:23, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the Globetrotters "draft" is basically a glorified PR used by the team to attach itself to relevant people in sports and sports-like things. Unless these draftees actually suit up for the team, they're at best, trivia and should not be mentioned in these athletes' pages. Mosmof (talk) 17:34, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Harlem Globetrotters, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! January 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Harlem Globetrotters. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!
