Your first edits[edit]

I noticed that your first couple of edits were to add Gordon Minns to a couple of list articles. I have reverted these edits for a variety of reasons.

  • List articles in general should only include entries which have articles elsewhere. There is no article on Gordon Minns, so he should not be listed for this reason alone.
  • For there to be a article on Gordon Minns, it needs to be sourced from multiple reliable sources which are independent of the subject. See Wikipedia's guidelines on notability in general and on biographies in particular.
  • Finally, if you are or are closely related to Mr. Minns, then you should not creating an article about him or doing other editing regarding him, for conflict of interest reasons. See also the guidelines on autobiographies. (Short version: Don't.)

Let me know if you have further questions. Thank you for your time. --Finngall talk 23:19, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

April 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to List of pioneers in computer science appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. It is a really bad idea to attempt to add yourself to lists of notable people. Please read WP:COI (and WP:MINOR too). Meters (talk) 23:20, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
