[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:List of Hollows in Bleach, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Logan Talk Contributions 03:42, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ANN Notice

[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. —Farix (t | c) 03:51, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for making legal threats or taking legal action. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. SarekOfVulcan (talk) 04:11, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia while the threats stand or the legal action is unresolved.

Unblock

Request reason:

Someone please unblock my account. Speaking with my attorney, I found that pursuing legal action against user:TheFarix would cost me more in legal fees then I would get in payment from him. Due to this, I will not be continuing in my legal pursuit and so wish for my block to be undone--God (Pray) 20:59, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Your request is declined. You state that financial matters prevent you from legal action. You do not seem to understand that making legal threats is against Wikipedia's policy whether it be against another editor or Wikipedia costly or not.Theda 23:44, 17 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Your policy on legal threats and your policy on unblocking say nothing about me having to be sorry for making a legal threat. To that, it was not even a threat. I said I was forced to consider legal action, which I did. Upon talking with my attorney, I was told that my case was iffy due to it being on the internet but if I did win, my legal costs would outweigh my monetary settlement. Because of this, I told my attorney that I would not be carrying on with the suit. It is my right as a U.S citizen to take legal action when my rights have been infringed upon. Wikipedia may not allow "legal threats" but it is a right that I have as a citizen. Reading your policy on so called legal threats, it states that upon the end of the legal dispute, my account should be unblocked. The suit is over and therefore I should rightfully be unblocked. I will not give up my right to consider legal action when it is warranted but I will not discuss such action on Wikipedia if that is your wish God (Pray) 02:35, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Decline reason:

What we are looking for here is not just n indication that you gave up on what was never going to be a viable lawsuit anyway. What we need to see is some understanding of why we do not tolerate such things. A legal threat has only one aim: to intimidate the other party. That is not how we do things around here. You should also be aware of our policy on what we call wiki-lawyering, which you seem to have very quickly adopted as a tactic in your approach to other users. Request reason:

Listen, I understand the policy. I get that it creates a disruption in the community and the editing of articles and that it creates a burden on the admins and staff. I get that people will throw legal threats around carelessly and its an act of intimidation. I do not agree with all of that but I am willing to follow it. --God (Pray) 03:12, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Please respond to my comment below. If you can't offer anything of a positive nature, we should just replace your legal threat block with an indef block for disuptive editing. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 19:50, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just to be clear, since no comment you've made yet has been, you have no intention to currently or in the future make threats of legal actions against Wikipedia or its users, and you understand that any such legal action will result in an indefinite block of your account until such issues are resolved? Hersfold (t/a/c) 17:44, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that is what I have been trying to say. I believe I have a right to take legal action if my rights have been violated but I shall not involve wikipedia in such a matter--God (Pray) 18:00, 18 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
For the avoidance of all doubt on all parts - you mention that you will not 'involve Wikipedia in [legal action if my rights have been violated]' - but you didn't mention the other part of the question... "you have no intention to currently or in the future make threats of legal actions against Wikipedia or its users" - could you clarify your position on that, and also that you understand that any further legal threats (should you be unblocked) would result in an immediate indefinite block? PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 03:39, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that is What I have said--God (Pray) 05:55, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your account here is called User:Godisme2. You have identified yourself as the same person as the editor known as User:Godisme over at Wikia, which I think means http://bleach.wikia.com/wiki/User:Godisme is your talk page there. From that page I read:

9. I hate wikipedia. The final lesson that I learned is that taking legal action to stop crimes is illegal on wikipedia. You are not allowed to prosecute criminals on wikipedia. All in all, it was a fun day. I got a lot of good material. I have a story due for my Intro to Fiction class soon, I think I can turn this into a funny allegory. So everyone enjoy the stupidity I have uncovered. Comment on my talk page if you want. I just felt I needed to share all of this because it made me laugh so hard especially 7 and 8

I can see why participating here could be fun for you, but it is not fun for us. You don't give us any reason for optimism for any good-faith contributions by you to Wikipedia in the future. You have already evaded the block on Godisme2 by using 150.212.72.23. There is no right to contribute to Wikipedia. If you think you can do some work here that is actually of a positive nature, please explain what you have in mind. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 19:48, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My sayings on wikia are of no concern to you here but if you are looking at my wikia account, I think it is pretty clear as to what I can do. I am a master of grammar correction and I know my stuff. My user page on wikia is for fun, I make fun of anything and everything so I would not take anything I say on my userpage as serious. I did not evade the block on my account. My ip changes every time I restart my computer. I have shown you that I have read and understand the rules and have said I will follow them. Should you choose to not unblock me it is no longer because of the reason for which I was blocked but rather because you simply do not like me which I do not believe is a valid reason.--God (Pray) 20:38, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Can I just point out an error in what you typed in Wikia? You didn't learn that taking legal action to stop crimes is illegal on wikipedia - taking legal action while in a position to edit on Wikipedia is not allowed, but in theory you could still take legal action - you just can't edit Wikipedia while doing so. However, that's no different to if you were to be suing your employer - you would be suspended from work while pursuing the action, and would not be allowed on the premises (in fact, your legal advice would be to avoid any contact with your employer, or fellow employees). PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 21:13, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, its all a joke. If you read the whole post you can see the sarcasm in it all. I understand its hard to tell when a person is joking on the internet but I thought the sarcasm in it all was pretty obvious but again, look at my contributions on wikia, not what I write on my userpage. I am a trusted member of the Bleach wiki, so much so that I was the only member of the Policy and Standards Committee to be appointed to the committee instead of the usual process of nominating oneself and waiting to be voted on by the members. The Bleach wiki's grammar corner was created specifically for me because of my ability to pick out the grammatical errors on all pages. I also run the Ninja Gaiden wiki so I know my way around wiki code. Take a look at my edits here before I got caught up in this whole controversy. I have made several edits across my many ips, fixing up grammar, updating records for some of my favorite sports players. I am going to stay off of Bleach related pages because I don't care for the english media and its obvious I am not going to change wikipedia's policies on the use of japanese media--God (Pray) 21:29, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have provided all the information asked of me. I have said that I can and will be a useful contributor, I have ended all legal action, read all the necessary policies and what not. Can I please be unblocked now?--God (Pray) 05:57, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Decline reason:

I have looked at your editing history, and I see continual disruptive editing, including personal attacks, edit-warring, incivility, persistently removing other editors' talk page comments, etc, and I find it difficult to find anything constructive there. Although the original reason given for your block was making a legal threat, you may consider yourself indefinitely blocked for persistent disruptive editing. If you wish to make any more unblock requests then please address these other issues, not just the legal threat issue. JamesBWatson (talk) 23:03, 26 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Since I've already declined a request from you I won't be reviewing this one, but I will tell you what nobody seems to want to say: You are finding us hesitant to trust you because your actions and your usernames bear all the hallmarks of an internet troll, someone who is more interested in disruption than in making positive contributions. A name like "God is me" and the accompanying signature are clearly deliberately designed to offend. They don't offend me personally, but nonetheless they are clearly designed to be offensive. You might want to think about that. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:49, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The name was designed for Bleach, it is a reference to my favorite character Aizen, who believes himself to be god, the signature was done on a dare and people thought it was funny so I kept it. Also, I use the same name on wikia and since you all have looked at my wikia account, I think it is pretty obvious that I am not a troll since I have rollback rights on most wikis I contribute at.--God (Pray) 02:13, 25 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
