[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in (a) GamerGate, (b) any gender-related dispute or controversy, (c) people associated with (a) or (b), all broadly construed. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Alok Vaid-Menon. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. Thank you. Funcrunch (talk) 00:59, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Sam Smith, you may be blocked from editing. Funcrunch (talk) 06:35, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Request reason:
After abiding with being blocked from editing Wikipedia at an IP address level since December 2020, I have finally decided to appeal this decision, as enacted by admin ScottyWong (I hope I am permitted to say who enacted the restriction, and apologise deeply to them and all the infrastructure of technical staff here if I am not). My reason is that I accept that I chose to take a personal view regarding non-binary gender out on Wikipedia articles (I believe Jacob Tobia and Alok Vaid-Menon were the pages I vandalised, and I hope those names are spelt correctly) and that Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a political forum, and thus, only facts and not opinions are acceptable for submission. If I am privileged enough to be unblocked, I will endeavour that any future edits I would make or articles I submit for approval would be for the intention of only building an encyclopaedia (I promise as an addition never to edit either Jacob Tobia’s or Alok Vaid-Menon’s articles even for beneficial reasons, as I feel I need not be a part of their chronicling/biographies considering my past actions). As an aside, I have been in weekly therapy to manage the anger issues that contributed to my juvenile behaviour that led to my indefinite block. In truth, I miss helping to build and improve this site, as in the past I helped to build the base biography for Russian citizen Aleksander Pichushkin’s page, which sad as it may sound, was one of the crowning achievements of my life, and I am ashamed that behaved so antisocially. Thank-you for the consideration, and I look forward to hearing a decision, regardless of outcomeGresLed (talk) 23:23, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
Accept reason:
Request for unblock accepted. Note that any hint of a return to your previous behavior will almost certainly result in an immediate block, and the next one is unlikely to be reversed. —ScottyWong— 06:05, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for your heartfelt explanation. One question I have for you: in the time since you were blocked, did you use any alternate accounts or edit Wikipedia anonymously? —ScottyWong— 00:04, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
Thank-you so much for the response. The answer to your questions is no I haven’t used alternate accounts at all or attempted to edit Wikipedia anonymously. GresLed (talk) 04:43, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
