Information icon Hello, I'm Jooojay. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Laura Owens, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Jooojay (talk) 09:48, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jooojay, nice to hear from you. However, I do believe you are mistaken. The online exhibition citation / announcement was CLEARLY present and I used the archived citation for perpetuity. Can you please be so kind as to undo your deletion? --Guestmare (talk) 15:07, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Guestmare: The online exhibition was a primary source, the actual place/person hosting and that was the issue. Let me know if you have any other question after you are able to review WP:RS. Jooojay (talk) 17:15, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Jooojay, Thank you for your time and reply. However, your comments are unsupported by the evidence and WP:RS. I am full compliance with WP:RS. I did include a citation which you claimed was not included. Perhaps you have some personal grievance? or if you have a specific WP:RS infraction against my entry, please state it outright. I'm certain many others, not only myself, would learn from your experience and insights. On the other hand, my simple entry in this article is a virtual, online group exhibition which are occurring rapidly all over the world today during the pandemic -- and exhibition has included the renowned artist Owens. If you prefer not to proclaim your specific claim, please kindly revert your recent deletion -- or please be fair and delete the other entries in this article that have NO citation whatsoever. Here is a list of similar exhibitions you can also delete: 2000: Inverleith House, Royal Botanical Garden, Edinburgh; 2004: Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA), North Miami, Florida; 2008: Shanghai Embassy, Shanghai, China; 2016: CCA Wattis Institute for ; 2001: Painting at the Edge of the World, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis. Thanks and be safe --Guestmare (talk) 22:03, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Guestmare: Hello, WP:RS does cover primary sources WP:RSPRIMARY, I would also check out WP:BLP and more specifically WP:BLPREMOVE. If you have questions please feel free to ask them either to me or in the tea house at WP:TH. I don't have time right now to focus on reviewing this article closely, I do a lot of editing here - however I am focused on new edits though and that is why it was reverted. If you are up to it and you have done your reading on this please feel free to remove more content from this article if it doesn't fulfill the standards set by WP (just be sure to document why in the edit summary). Jooojay (talk) 22:16, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Jooojay, Thank you for your time and reply. I respect and value your time. Any learned, impartial reader will view your new random claim WP:RSPRIMARY as simply another example of disingenuous obfuscation -- given that few other citations on Owen's exhibition list, when they have any, only has one primary source citation WP:RSPRIMARY as did mine. FYI: ArtFixDaily.com is not an authoritative arts media outlet or WP:RS. LoL. Anyone can see this. Therefore, please kindly allow me to reassert that your action remains inappropriate. Anyway, I wish you good luck on your random and unilateral editing journey on Wiki with impunity. Thanks and be safe --Guestmare (talk) 22:47, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am not sure what your situation is with LG Williams, but if you do not respond with a relationship explanation to this website/source/person I will escalate this, it is looking like a conflict of interest now. Jooojay (talk) 22:51, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

I see in your edit history you have been repeatedly adding this same citation to multiple articles on WP, despite this conversation here on your talk page. Are you at all connected to this website LG Williams or to Lawrence Graham Williams III? Jooojay (talk) 22:21, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I will be happy to answer your 2 questions: (1) no and (2) no. I'm just love digital art and hope to make an article one day. Be safe --Guestmare (talk) 23:14, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The website you keep linking poor citations to - http://lgwilliams.com/ shows a link to wikipedia on it and it points to your sandboxed draft article about LG Williams. Jooojay (talk) 11:30, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Guestmare. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Specifically what is your relationship to LG Williams? Jooojay (talk) 22:52, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Guestmare/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Also, since your sandbox page is linked (see "Wiki" link at top of this page) from the public web site of the person you are writing about,it is safe to assume you have a conflict of interest. Please explain at the COIN link above. Possibly (talk) 01:27, 14 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
