Hi as a new member to the wiki community may I ask why this has been highlighted for deletion? I have worked meticulously on this page and have added citations and have been clear and concise with all my information. I would love to rework this page rather than have it deleted. I await your response. HWL12345 (talk) 17:42, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have had an issue with the title and had to redirect it as the surname Dillon was spelt incorrectly(it was spelt dillion instead)this is the only current issue with this page. HWL12345 (talk) 17:44, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! In the message above, Magnolia677 provided a link to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adam Dillon, which is where users (including you!) can discuss the reasons the article has been highlighted for deletion. The primary reason seems to be a lack of reliable secondary sources - see Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Basic criteria. Hope this helps! GoingBatty (talk) 17:56, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response. I have added all the correct sources and have not elaborated on common knowledge about the article subject-in order to be more reliable(this should be taken into account).I may also add that the article subject is an would be classed as an entertainer and fits into additional criteria of a notable person He has a large clut like following and had made waves in tjr TikTok community, making innovative content in the online entertainment industry. Wikipedia has its own definition of notability. The number of online followers alone does not meet Wikipedia's criteria. Instead, Wikipedia articles should have reliable sources that are independent, such as newspaper or magazine articles or books about Dillon. I encourage you to discuss further by posting at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Adam Dillon. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 04:01, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response. I will take into account that online followers does not meet the means for notability. But I will be quick to mention the countless other Tiktokers who have pages on Wikipedia, who yes have been influential (like Adam dillon I may add), have only the number of followers to show for their success and the number of followers is one of the few ways to show a person had been influential and notable without excessively elaborating on an opinion which could not be cited. I also ask how can I edit currently? As when going to edit the page it states I am not allowed to edit until a decision has been made? Meaning I can only edit once the decision to delete or not has gone ahead...so I am unable to improve the article and put into practice your useful comments. I hope that makes sense. I hope to hear back soon. HWL12345 (talk) 17:29, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It took me a while to see this question in the Help Desk archives but let me give this a try. Whether a person is influential depends on reliable sources that say the person is influential. If you see other Wikipedia articles that you feel show Adam Dillon meets the criteria for notability, one of two things has happened. Either the article subject did not meet notability criteria and someone missed it, or notability has been clearly established in the other article. I think you can edit an article that is being considered for deletion as long as you make improvements, because those improvements could change people's minds about whether the article should be deleted. Anytime you do that, reliable sources must be included.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 16:22, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
