Statelessness

[edit]

Hey, I agree with you that statelessness should be mentioned in the lead. So I put it along the line, "In 1982, General Ne Win's government enacted the Burmese nationality law, which denied Rohingya citizenship, rendering a majority of Rohingya population stateless" which puts everything in context. I think "As of December 2016, 1 in 7 stateless persons worldwide are Rohingya per United Nations figures on statelessness." is a bit out of context and mentioned in the human rights section. Let's compromise and do not waste time on edit wars.

Thanks, thanks fine as long as verified statistics are mentioned in the Wikipedia article somewhere.HamCSy (talk) 22:34, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Iqram Magdon-Ismail until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Störm (talk) 10:11, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

User: HamCSy: Unclear why the Wikipedia page of an enterpreneur who created the Venmo platform that acquired for PayPal and now does $12 Billion transactions in the first quarter of 2018 warrants deletion. This is A HUGELY notable contribution. The sources cited ARE high quality evidence. Also Since there were 2 cofoudners why has Andrew Kortina not been nominated for deletion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Kortina)

This was discussed already. You didn't comment in the discussion. The consensus was to redirect the page to Venmo. Complaining here, even in capital letters, won't change that, this was just a notification message. Don't take it on yourself to reverse that decision without further discussion. In particular, bear in mind that recreating a page previously deleted following AfD is a speedy deletion criterion, and repeatedly reversing the decision to make this a redirect is an edit war which will get you blocked. If you still wish to recreate the page, don't mess with the AfD discussion, that's finished. You might float your ideas on the talk page of the article, but best to read up on what actually makes a person notable in Wikipedia's eyes (not your eyes). Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Indian Matchmaking, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Christian. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
