Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Happiness47, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Adam and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

You have a lot of information already! Make sure you provide citations for the statistics in the intro about The Department of Education investigation and for the line in the intro about the spokeswoman for the NJ Department of Education! Also watch out for some spelling errors, sentence fragments, and capitalization issues in your paragraphs. I wanted to point this out since your writing is in final draft form of separate paragraphs, and not notes or bullet points. It would also be helpful to link the charter schools mentioned to their websites. Just make sure that you are citing or provided a link for each statistic, fact, or study you mention in your writing. There are multiple statements that appear to be unsupported by a reference. Another possible extension for your writing could be talking about what the effect of the shift to charter schools has been for Camden, the students, and families (just remember to be unbiased). Another suggestion or idea would be to add more of a history of education in Camden, or what education was like before the 2103 switch, where your article starts. For an uninformed reader, who is completely unaware of what education was like before the charter schools came along, to give context and something to which they can be compared. Congratulations on getting some of your work onto the main space! The information about the charter schools is great because it is so relevant and current today. This information is a resource for parents of children in the Camden community. The education section is organized well and everything flows into each other. Maybe you could add a picture or logo of the most prominent charter school! I'm having difficulty getting to your sandbox (if you even have anything else in it) so you could either send it to me or I could look over anything you else you might want to add in class. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hmb97 (talkcontribs) 19:36, 14 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
