A tag has been placed on Sodouner requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --MikeVitale 18:22, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The instant your band becomes slightly well known and gets reviewed in print, we'd love to have an article about it. Deleting it now doesn't mean "can't recreate it later and better", it just means "not viable now". DMacks 17:51, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quit deleting my article! Jessh O' Pete, we are well known in montgomery and fountain county. We play throughout Indiana just for fun. SODOUNER!

Again, please read the official guidelines for what qualifies as a group that is notable enough for an article. DMacks 19:13, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. An article about such a person will need to be able to assert notability per Wikipedia's notability guidelines on biographies, which will mean utilizing reliable secondary sources, like newspaper articles. An article of this sort would also be covered by Wikipedia's guidelines on "biographies of living persons", which in part urges editors to be extremely careful not to include any information that isn't sourced, even if it's true, and also reminds us that biographies particularly must be written from a neutral point of view.

If you are the subject, as your conversation on the now deleted talk page suggests, you should review the guideline on autobiographies. These are strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. Even if you do meet the notability guidelines, it is recommended that you allow somebody else to write your article. You may propose its creation at the talk page of a related article or relevant WikiProject. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:35, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Patrick Keesee requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Patrick Keesee. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Patrick Keesee. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. TheLetterM (talk) 13:36, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
