If that image was taken from the Open Access NAR article, it may be GFDL compliant, but you need to say so exactly. Fix it quickly. And add some text, or it is not obvious what is going on. there's some discussion of this article on my talk page.DGG (talk) 20:45, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:2 Base Encoding.png. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:2-Base Encoding.png. The copy called Image:2-Base Encoding.png has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Hey there, Hashtpa9! I'm glad you decided to register a new account here on Wikipedia. We're always looking for new editors to help improve the project, because believe me, there's always something to be done! Wikipedia often seems very large to newcomers (it did to me, at least), so I've put together this little guide to help you get started. I hope this helps, and as always, happy editing! Some Quick Tips

  • Don't be afraid to make mistakes - Be Bold! That's how things get done, and there is always someone around to help you out if you need it.
  • Remember to sign your posts on talk pages, like this one. You can click Button sig.png this button on your editing toolbar, or just type in four tildes (~~~~) That way, people know who they're talking to and who to go to if they have a question for you.
  • Take some time to read a few of the help files, especially if you're new to Wikimarkup. Knowing the basics can save a lot of time and frustration down the road. I've provided some of these pages, as well as some common policies, at right.
  • If you ever have a question, there are plenty of places to ask! You can come talk to me, add the code {{helpme|your question}} to your talk page here, post a question on the talk page of the article you have a question about, or post something on the Help Desk or Reference Desk.
  • Check out the ways to get involved below - each of these suggestions are good ways for a new editor to get involved in the Wikipedia project.
  • Most importantly, get out there and edit! Thanks again for signing on!

Hi there, I've made some changes to the 2 Base Encoding article, if you need any advice on improving it further just drop me a note. Something you will find useful is this tool that generates formatted citations from PubMed ID numbers. Tim Vickers (talk) 17:17, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
Hi! Thank you for contributing to wikipedia! I am familiar with this sequencing technology and had already created a sequencing by ligation article. I think you should consider merging this article into that, in general I think the wikipedia preference is to keep all the aspects of a single subject within one article. You might also be interested in creating the emulsion PCR article -- there has been a red link within the DNA sequencing article for some time now (created by me...). This way, instead of an article covering a a particular set of things done by ABI (which ends up unfortunately looking like advertising), we can have encyclopedia articles addressing the general methods and techniques. :-) Madeleine 21:16, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
