Please do not add commercial links (or links to your own private websites) to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia. See the welcome page to learn more. Thanks. -- Linkspamremover 09:22, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Every page that I added a link to the External links section, had links that would be considered Spam as you refer to it. Why was our helpful site, PHPXref.com, singled out? Maybe I'll just remove Mediawiki's Xref from our site ;) -- Hcgtv 18:40, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Depending on the context, it might be seen as an attempt to promote an organisation or site in order to generate more traffic. If someone removed your link, the best thing to do would probably be to contact that user, and ask what he/she reacted on. Hope this helps, if not, do not hesitate to contact me :-) Bjelleklang - talk 21:47, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. Yes I reacted on these other edits as well. The content seemed negligible - and either similar to or capable of being, content belonging in the encyclopaedia. There also seemed to be quite a large amount of advertising - combined with the spread of articles you were putting the link into, I considered it appropriate to remind you that Wikipedia needs content and not links, and to remind you of the guidelines at WP:EL. Thanks. -- Linkspamremover 21:56, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Your only contributions to Wikipedia has been the addition of two external links; this looks highly suspicious! Additionally, look at Wikipedia's style guide on external links to see if your contributions are appropriate. Generally speaking, I would side with the other editors, as your site does not appear to be very useful and contains advertising. Andrewjuren(talk) 22:01, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, so my site is not very useful. Have you actually used the site Andrew? That's cool, I'll save this page off for a laugh one day. Have a nice day. Hcgtv 22:08, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
