Afrik Heritage[edit]
Afrik Heritage is a contemporary world music band formed in Nigeria, West Africa by Ayotunde Aboderin, a music guru and scholar.
Afrik Heritage was officially formed in 2018 and has its band's name in reference to the preservation of Africa's heritage, honor, pride, and courage.
The band engages in tours around Africa proclaiming the unity of Africa and thrilling audience through it's music.
History
In 2017, Ayotunde Aboderin was inspired to start recording music with strong lyrics that could influence Africans to start making positive contributions in their communities and become the best in life. His ideology was that music could turn Africans around positively and with that people's general assumption of Africa and Africans can change gradually. He started recording songs with Opeyemi Akinyemi who is also a co-founder and lead vocalist.
Afrik Heritage band member's later increased making a professional musical band.
Musical styles, Influence and genre
Afrik Heritage experiments different genres of music, ranging from, Folk, Reggae, Afro-Pop, Jazz, Popular African music in general thereby creating unusual innovative vibes to thrill its listeners.
Afrik Heritage band founder, Ayotunde Aboderin was influenced by musicians like, Salif Keita, Habib Koite, Mariam Makeba, Oliver Mtukudzi etc.
Songs
Afrik Heritage released an album in 2018 named, 'NOW IS THE TIME, AFRICA'. The song was accepted by Africans and friends of Africa and is on many musical platforms like, ReverNation, SoundCloud, YouTube, Ethnocloud, Mdundo, etc. Recorded Tracks includes: 1.
