[edit]Hello, I'm Dan56. Your recent edit to the page Can't Buy a Thrill appears to have added incorrect information, so I have removed it for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Dan56 (talk) 06:15, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
Several sources state the album's release date to be October 1972 - see http://www.steelydan.com/faq.html and http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/reviews/bvhf - this makes sense as it aligns with the first single being released the following month in November 1972.
- SteelyDan.com is not a third-party source independent of whoever or whatever is being covered in the article. BBC.com mentions on that page that it uses information from musicbrainz and is licensed under Creative Commons, like Wikipedia. November 1972 is verified by Steely Dan biographer Brian Sweet ([1]) and music historian Martin C. Strong in his book The Great Rock Discography, which is cited in the article's Release and reception section. Dan56 (talk) 21:49, 5 April 2015 (UTC)
In that case, if November is indeed correct, then Steely Dan's discography page is incorrect, as it has October as the release date - I only noticed that after changing album page - so, which is correct? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.231.178 (talk) 22:54, 5 April 2015 (UTC)

Further, http://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/steely_dan/cant_buy_a_thrill/ , which is cited, states a release date of October 1972!
- Rateyourmusic is not a reliable source (WP:ALBUMS/SOURCE#Sources to avoid) Dan56 (talk) 05:08, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
That is your opinion and in the words of Dirty Harry "opinions are like a***holes, everyone has one"! I can see more cases where October is stated as the release date than there are of November - not to mention that Steel Dan's wiki discography page even has October as the release date! Do you ever consider that you may be wrong? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.153.231.178 (talk) 05:57, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
