Tagged Something[edit]

{{helpme}} Excuse me for my obvious ignorance, but I recently tagged a talk page for speedy deletion (or something else) because of a copyright violation. Is this an administrator-only privilege? Please do correct my action in any way possible if what I did was incorrect. Thanks! --Hoverflew0909 (talk) 12:10, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If it is a talkpage, you can just remove the material and cite WP:copyvio as the reasoning.

Speedy deletion declined: User:!Lee![edit]

Hello Hoverflew0909, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of User:!Lee! - a page you tagged - because: User does exist, or this is not a user page. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Closedmouth (talk) 12:50, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And Another Tag[edit]

{{helpme}} Another of my ignorance. I recently checked the recent changes and tagged Muhammad and assassinations for cleanup, since I think that it is quite notable and should not be deleted. Am I allowed to remove the speedy deletion tag? Thanks!--Hoverflew0909 (talk) 13:40, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no speedy deletion tag there. You can remove the cleanup tag if you want. Just leave a note in the edit summary explaining why. BejinhanTalk 13:55, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
(e/c) You are allowed to remove a speedy deletion tag when you understand the issue and find that it is blatantly incorrect. Here I do not think you understood the issue. The tagging was as a copyright violation. The notability of the subject has no bearing whatever on that issue. The most notable subject in the world should be deleted if it is a copyright violation. In fact, you could argue that the more notable the topic, the more crucial it is that we delete the article on it quickly if it is a copyright violation because the more notable, the more likely it is that it will be visited, thus exposing Wikipedia to potential liability for hosting the copyright infringing content. In any event, I have declined the speedy because checking the page that it was stated as a copyright violation of, I couldn't find any verbatim copying of text, so I don't know what the tagger meant when they marked it as infringing that source. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 14:00, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Katrina parker has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. I have added a reliable source and deleted the said tag. Thank you for the notice. --Hoverflew0909 (talk) 10:07, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
