Welcome

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia.

Warning at User talk:Thompson Is Right seems inappropriate

[edit]

I note that you have placed a template warning message at User talk:Thompson Is Right for edits at International Game Developers Association. I encourage you to remove this warning at once, and remember to always wp:assume good faith. I understand that you strongly disagree with the editor, and the edit appears not of a wp:Neutral point of view, rather than vandalistic.

Further, please note that your edits also do not seem to be from a wp:Neutral point of view. From your chosen user name, you appear to have a wp:conflict of interest in the IGDA article. Your use of "we" in your explanations of edits, seems to indicate further that this is the case. You may want to consider avoiding edits to the IGDA article.

Further, I would encourage you to ask an admin to change your user name to something that does not make it appear that you represent or speak for the IGDA, perhaps after reading Wikipedia:Username policy. (edit to add: note that is just the advice of one ordinary editor... I speak only for myself :) )

Either way, please bear in mind that there is wp:no ownership of articles, and even those who disagree strongly with us, even actively follow an agenda contrary to our views or best interests, are quite welcome to edit any article, and even make edits we disagree with to it.

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because it has been identified as an account used for promotion of a company or group, with a username that implies that this has been done by that company or group. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest.

This kind of activity is considered spamming and forbidden by policies, and also violates our username policy.

However, if you feel that there has been a mistake in your blocking, please appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below or email the administrator who blocked you. Your reason should include your response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy (specifically, understand that accounts are for individuals, not companies or groups, and that your username should reflect this). Please check that your new username has not already been taken by checking this list. Cirt (talk) 15:56, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Mitzi McGilvray

[edit]

I have nominated Mitzi McGilvray, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mitzi McGilvray. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Thompson Is Right (talk) 03:14, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
