Welcome![edit]

Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, AviationHero! Thank you for your contributions. I am GeneralizationsAreBad and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. You can also check out Wikipedia:Questions or type {{help me}} at the bottom of this page. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! GABgab 22:05, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

January 2019[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely because the chosen username is a clear violation of our username policy – it is obviously profane, threatens, attacks or impersonates another person, or suggests that you do not intend to contribute positively to the encyclopedia (see our blocking and username policies for more information).

We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia, but users are not allowed to edit with inappropriate usernames and we do not tolerate 'bad faith' editing such as trolling or other disruptive behavior. If you think there are good reasons why these don't describe your account, or why you should be unblocked, you are welcome to appeal this block – read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. 331dot (talk) 19:06, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Usernames cannot resemble IP addresses. You will need to choose something else. 331dot (talk) 19:07, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

Is this username ok, sorry for violating

Accept reason:

Renamed, will unblock. 331dot (talk) 21:56, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

That choice is too similar to an existing name, you will need to choose something else. You may simply edit your existing request. 331dot (talk) 20:14, 2 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Checkuser[edit]

I have been blocked for username violating and just got my account back, now I have apparently been a checkuser. Whats going on? AviationHero (u.t.c) 09:18, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You are now blocked by a checkuser as being a sockpuppet; this means there is technical evidence of your use of multiple accounts. You will need to address this in an unblock request. 331dot (talk) 09:55, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am not a sockpuppet AviationHero (u.t.c) 09:59, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You can make that claim in an unblock request, but as I indicated you will have to address the technical evidence indicating multiple accounts. 331dot (talk) 10:02, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Can I email the Arbitration Committee if I have to I can email them. AviationHero (u.t.c) 10:19, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There is nothing for ArbCom to do regarding this matter. It will be reviewed by a checkuser. Being an administrator is years away for you, if ever, as the community would need to grant you such powers and that would only happen after you develop an extensive history and can demonstrate knowledge of Wikipedia policies- which sockpuppeting clearly shows that you don't have. (I was here 6 years before even being considered) Any user can do probably 95% of things there are to do here without being an administrator. If I were you I wouldn't worry about being an administrator and just concentrate on the matter at hand. 331dot (talk) 10:23, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I looked at my preferences and someone has removed my email AviationHero (u.t.c) 10:28, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No one can remove your email address from your preferences except for you or anyone logged in to your account. 331dot (talk) 10:29, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
An email said "if you didn't remove the email tell an administrator immediately" AviationHero (u.t.c) 10:31, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Checkuser Unblock request[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I don't know what a sockpuppet is and why is my on the Fly High in the Sky checkuser page thing, you haven't comfirmed it with me. I will edit Aviation articles . what technical evidence, what country is the apparently sockpuppet from and IP address. AviationHero (u.t.c) 10:08, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

If, as you say above, someone removed your email address from your account and you received an email to say so, and it was not you who did it, then this account has been compromised and can not be unblocked. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:46, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

  • You don't need a "Help me" request in addition to your unblock request - the unblock request is sufficient to draw admin attention. And I have combined both unblock requests into one, as you don't need two of them. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:06, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

How? AviationHero (u.t.c) 11:54, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

How what? How was your account compromised? I've no idea. Maybe you left your computer logged in and unattended and someone accessed it, or maybe your password is weak and someone guessed it - those seem like the most obvious possibilities. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:58, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think your right. Why can my account not be unblocked because of that. AviationHero (u.t.c) 12:11, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
How's that email thing meant to do with my unblock AviationHero (u.t.c) 12:28, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It means someone else has had access to the account, and it is now impossible to tell who is currently in control of it and talking to us - the original owner or the hacker. See WP:Compromised for more information. (Also, even without the compromise, there's still the matter of the checkuser-verified socking, but it's just another reason why this account will not be unblocked). Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:57, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I lied about the email, I was just seeing how you would react to it. AviationHero (u.t.c) 14:42, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I expect Boing! said Zebedee will revoke your talk page access soon, as we are clearly being trolled. ——SerialNumber54129 14:52, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
How prescient of you, Serial Number 54129, that's exactly what I have done. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 15:06, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
