[edit]
Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Lourdes 06:14, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

my old username was too closely tied to a group name and was suspected to be used for promotional edits. i have no actual ties to that organization and did not intend to mislead or persuade anyone with any of my edits. from now on, i will diversify the topics of pages that i edit

Decline reason:

Even if you have no ties to the organization(I'm not sure), you don't seem to see how your edits were promotional, and you don't tell the topics you might edit about instead of the Infinite organization. 331dot (talk) 10:51, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, sorry, I don't exactly understand how my latest edits were promotional. Could you explain it to me please? Ifnt (talk) 16:26, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh wait, is it because my reference wasn't reliable enough? Ifnt (talk) 16:29, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! How do I request a re-review? Ifnt (talk) 18:02, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Paper9oll. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Infinite (group), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 10:14, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock-spamun|goldenrain|reason=Ok, I've realized that the sources I used were directly related to the organization, which isn't allowed. For some reason I assumed that it would be a reliable source since it came directly from the subject matter at hand and wasn't aware that it would be considered promotional, so I apologize for that. My intentions were honestly just to help out by providing accurate updates I came across, and I created an account without looking too much into the rules. I can't guarantee I won't make any more mistakes in the future since I'm still pretty new at this, but I'll make sure to be more mindful of the regulations in the future. (Is there any person I could contact when I'm confused about something? That would be really helpful aha).}

Request reason:

Hi, I don't know how to get the attention of administrators. I've responded to previous feedback I received but I think no one has been notified to review my page again? I'll copy and paste here what I wrote earlier: "Ok, I've realized that the sources I used were directly related to the organization, which isn't allowed. I'm really trying to help improve Wikipedia by adding missing information I'm aware of, but I didn't completely understand all of Wikipedia's policies. I looked over Wikipedia's blocking policy and it seems that there is some leeway allowed for new users. Hopefully someone can help me! I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You get the attention of administrators by making a correctly formatted unblock request, which you've done, and so now you have it. That said, can you please be more specific about what you understand about what the issues were with your edits, and what would need to change going forward? (You mentioned your use of sources which are not independent, and that was one issue, but it is not the only problem, nor the most significant one.)
