Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: Use of "stalker" is potentially unsettling since it refers to a real-world potentially-violent act. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you. Daniel Case (talk) 15:44, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Daniel. Thanks for letting me know about username policy violation. I understand your concern and I will change the username as soon as possible. I definitely understand how it may sound "stalker", however there is another meaning of this word - like very advanced guide, master of hounds or just hunter. You're welcome. Yes, I've had this discussion before. It's unfortunate that the evolution of the language has forced a more, do we say, nocuous connotation on the word.

You can change your name either by the formal process or just by starting a new account (and blanking this page and putting {{db-u1}} atop it. We can't take the account out of the system but we can remove most evidence of it). Daniel Case (talk) 16:21, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

*The formal process of renaming is in progress. New possible name is Iljapetroff. Thanks a lot!--Oldstalker (talk) 20:18, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
