Speedy deletion nomination of Iocor

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Iocor, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- Luke (Talk) 02:24, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because your username, Iocordev, does not meet our username policy.

Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you feel that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

There are lots of misleading information. My first article has been deleted without any reason and I can't get in contact with anyone here... now my username is deleted?...

Decline reason:

Ypur article hasn't been deleted for no reason, the deleting administrator has clearly indicated that it contains "No explanation of the subject's significance (real person, animal, organization, or web content)". Your account is not deleted, it's blocked, see above for explanation. Max Semenik (talk) 08:27, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

what should I do then? I'm trying to understand the whole edition process and i couldn't even try to create or edit anything. My first post was about Iocor organization, now deleted, I understand now that I must provide specific references around the web about Iocor... how shall i proceed? take in mind that I'm trying to get in touch with this writing semantics.. thank you.

Decline reason:

The first thing you should do is follow the instructions in the block message, above, which explains that your username is not appropriate and tells you how to request a new username. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:24, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Since I won't be creating the same post "Iocor", this username "iocordev" won't be used for promotional as stated in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:U... therefore I would like to maintain it since it's a common username for me and the dev word breaks any direct relationship to a "selfpromotion"; also iocor is a very common word in latin, kindly check...Thank you, Best Regards.

Decline reason:

No, the username guidelines really do not allow you to use the name of your business as your username, as was explained to you in the previous messages. Please, don't request unblock again unless you are choosing a personal username and planning to make edits that are not related to your business. Request reason:

With all due respect you're following a wrong criteria, my username is accepted in the username policy guidelines. I don't want to continue this type of academic discussion, I don't really like it. Kindly read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:U -> Company/group names ... "Unambiguous use of a name or URL of a company, group or product as a username is generally not permitted. (e.g. AlexTownWidgets, MyWidgetsUSA.com, TrammelMuseumofArt) However, this does not prohibit every use of a company, group, or product name as part of a username. (WidgetFan87, Mark at WidgetsUSA, LoveTrammelArt, etc.)" So my username is clearly accepted. The company is Iocor, I've added "Dev"... the final username "iocordev" isn't prohibited as stated in the wikipedia guidelines. I'm not making propaganda, or spamming, or anything else. Iocor means joke, from latin, and iocordev is not any company and doesn't make any promotion at all. I don't know how administrators don't know the specific guidelines of the site they're administrating. Kindly send this review to someone who really knows and can give a concrete solution. It's very unconforting this welcome to wikipedia, this is my first time and all I see is misconception from the "administrators" of the guidelines wikipedia is based on... It is like a tirany of information, in which any person decides arbitrarily what to do without following the site policies of this site. Thank you, Best Regards.

Decline reason:

If your user name were clearly accepted we wouldn't be here. Your choice of name is complicated by your initial edits and so you will have to address a change of name before this process can move forward. Please understand that to continue your current course, i.e. not addressing the issue that resulted in your block, you risk losing the ability to edit this page (continued misuse of the unblock template is construed as disruption). If you have questions or require clarification you may leave a message without utilizing the unblock template; I will watchlist this page and address any concerns you may have. {{| 1= Please enable my username as it is not breaking any site policies, I accept that the initial problem was that I wanted to create a page for "IOCOR" (and I'll ask a partner of mine to do that with his user) but the username "iocordev" will no be used to edit or create any related content for IOCOR, and it's clearly shown in site policies that it's permitted, the complications are solved if the site policies are followed. You're free to evaluate that i won't create any related content for IOCOR or spamming, or publicity. Kindly please end this "academic" discussion. I only want what is fair and just, stated in policies; I'm not a terrorist or a mind criminal.... Thank you.}}}}

You are very wrong

[edit]

Your username will not be permitted. Full stop. That your request above is malformed is the only reason I have not blocked your access to this page. Please remove the "request" and engage on this page using standard messages. Again, I am watching this page and will answer your concerns. Tiderolls 23:06, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do you like this username?

[edit]

"dominoe" is correct for you as an username? I hope you like this content block edition. Kindly read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Injustice --Iocordev (talk) 23:11, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please follow the directions in the original block notice by posting {{unblock-un|your new username here}} with your choice of user name in the proper field. As you have already stated you will not pursue editing in the subject above, this will most likely result in your unblock. I would caution you further that meatpuppetry ("and I'll ask a partner of mine to do that with his user") is a practice that is also proscribed on this project. IT might have been a good idea to simply mention that you were creating hoax articles to begin with. Kuru (talk) 02:13, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I wrote a note to you in which I explained the rules and linked to them, and gave you some advice about editing Wikipedia without conflict of interest. Was there a reason that you removed my note from your talk page? -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 00:51, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, now I understand. I couldn't figure out why a company that offers such a very broad range of services (and must therefore of necessity be fairly enormous) had zero hits in Google News. But my search revealed that "IOCOR" is the fake company featured in My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss. Which means that the article you created was a WP:HOAX, and you didn't mention this in any of your many unblock requests. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 01:00, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So, as FQ points out above, you don't have a conflict of interest, you've just been pretending that fiction is fact, which is worse, don't you think? Acroterion (talk) 01:46, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

NEW USERNAME IS CORRECT AS YOU ASKED

[edit]

I wasn't creating any kind of hoax article, all the previous is unsustained and based on nothing solid, just false assumptions. If you want not to admit just delete my account and I will begin from 0. This is childish and tiring... There is never a solution with you, it seems that you always want to discuss? Are you some kind of new age inquisition?

Your company is a hoax - the only search results I get on Google are Latin dictionaries and references to My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss. Furthermore, your combative attitude is not conducive to Wikipedia's collaborative editing environment. If I were logged into my admin account, I would remove your ability to edit this page to prevent further disruptive appeals. As it is, I'm at work and logged into my other account, so you've one more chance to come clean and convince us why it would be a benefit to the encyclopedia as a whole to unblock you and allow you to edit. Hersfold non-admin(t/a/c) 17:48, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

{unblock-un|idominoe|You're a hoax, how old are you all? What I can see is that you bring "proof" non-sustantive, say "it's as I say" and don't even know me?... If you want to know about my "combative" attitude just read the previous posts one by one and you can see why I have this attitude as a new user. I want to be unblocked because my company is for real despite what you think, we're behind what you call "hoax" three working real persons (contact my email if you want), and I want to use wikipedia to publish about notable persons and company related to my work, not to make any kind of HOAXES or PUBLICITY as you wrongly speculations, based only on search and speculations. Because you don't have one real proof to blame me. This is my last writing, if you're happy delete this and I'll create a new account in the future. You're free to...}}

I think this has gone on long enough, don't you? I have disabled your access to this talk page. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 19:36, 3 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
