Duplicate images uploaded

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:LFB Fire Investigation Dog.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:21. Fire Investigation Dog.jpg. The copy called Image:21. Fire Investigation Dog.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Speedy deletion of ECFRS Hose Layer Unit

[edit]

A tag has been placed on ECFRS Hose Layer Unit requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. London Fire Brigade

[edit]

Why not include the above stubs in the London Fire Brigade article? Also, you can upload your images to the commons (e.g. Commons:Fire engine, etc.). --Kkmurray (talk) 01:32, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As an admin working the CSD backlog, I started responding to the speedy tags on your stubs. Rather than delete them, I've instead combined them into the article London Fire Brigade equipment. I did it this way instead of putting them into the LFB article, because that article is so long. Please continue to work on them there. It is generally a better idea to combine similar items like this instead of created a set of fragmented stubs. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 01:58, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Essex County Fire and Rescue Service appliances requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Circumcision picture

[edit]

Hi. I see you added a picture to Circumcision. Someone reverted it as "possible vandalism". Maybe they were mistaken; maybe the image was appropriate. You could discuss it at Talk:Circumcision. If you're uploading an image you're usually supposed to upload it to commons commons:Main Page and you have to provide copyright information: for example if you took the picture yourself you have to say so and declare something about its copyright -- there are instructions somewhere, the rules are very strict. (Maybe sometimes you're supposed to upload the image to Wikipedia. I'm not sure what the rules are. See Help:Images.) When the image is in commons it's easy to display it on a wikipedia page. I hope this helps. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. --Coppertwig (talk) 02:41, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:WTC 2nd attack.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:WTC 2nd attack.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:07, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:BTP_Police_truck.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BTP_Police_truck.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:34, 2 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih 22:34, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image thumbnail sizes

[edit]

Please do not add pixel sizes to image thumbnails in the article; doing so disables the user perferences feature of wikipedia. Thanks. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 06:20, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You Tube LINKS..

[edit]

Please do NOT just re-insert links to material whose status was doubted. If you wish to discuss or object to the removal please use the talk page for the article concerned.

Linking to material of un-verfied copyright status is not in the spirit of Wikipedia and can create legal risks for the project.

Should you have evidence to support linkage to material on sites like You Tube, please provide this on the talk page for the article concerned, or in edit summaries when adding the links.

Account block notice

[edit]

You have continued to upload images of questionable copyright status despite being asked to stop. Therefore, I regret to inform you that you are blocked from this site for 11 days in order to protect the project. When the block expires, you will be able to upload and contribute again, but if you upload further images, you must comply with the image use policy, copyright policy, and, where appropriate, non-free content criteria. In particular, you must not claim that you created an image yourself, it is all your own work, and you release it to the public domain if that is not true. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
