A tag has been placed on Thierry grégoire (politicien) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. [edit]

Hi James, I've got Diana Wallis on my watchlist so noticed your addition of a ref. It's not actually appropriate where you've put it - you've added it as if it was a source to verify that she was re-elected in 2004. I will move it to being an External Link.

But I've added an "External Link" to Micandidate to the Yorkshire and the Humber (European Parliament constituency), and it might be appropriate for you to add links like that from all the UK constit articles, rather than adding links to all individuals who've got articles (ie sitting MEPs and a few others - in fact it's the weird newcomers that people are more likely to want to know about!). I think that's the most useful place. Interesting website. PamD (talk) 11:07, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not Minor edits

[edit]

James, I've just spotted that your edits are all flagged as "Minor". Adding new references to a site which some editors (and apparently an automated "bot") might consider spam is NOT a "Minor Edit". See WP:Minor, which includes "A good rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.'". Please un-tick the "Minor Edit" box immediately. Thanks. PamD (talk) 11:24, 18 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Kay Swinburne. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Jezhotwells (talk) 12:11, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is the only warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to many articles on Euro MPs, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing their websites from appearing on Wikipedia. Jezhotwells (talk) 12:35, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Micandidate, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Micandidate and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Jezhotwells (talk) 12:48, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
