Hello, Jamie, and welcome to editing Wikipedia. I don't agree at all with the speedy deletion nomination of your user page posted by Spf121188, and I was going to decline the nomination, only to find that someone else beat me to it. The kind of thing you posted was certainly not an excessive amount of personal information, and in fact if you ever do any kind of editing related to Reuters, then it is exactly the kind of disclosure which is not just permitted but required. If you are connected to someone or something you write about, such as a company you work for, then Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline discourages you from writing about that subject, and recommends particular procedures to follow if you do so. The main reason for that is that experience over the years indicates that editors with such a connection to a subject they are writing about are likely to find it very difficult, or even impossible, to stand back from their writing and see how it will look from the detached perspective of an outsider, so that they are likely to write in ways that look promotional to others, even if they sincerely think they are writing in a neutral way. Also, if your editing forms all or part of work for which you are paid, whether as an employee, as a contractor, or in any other capacity, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require you to state who is paying you, and what your connection to them is. (To avoid the possibility of a surprisingly common misunderstanding, editing is part of paid work if it is done as part of normal employment or as part of work to a contract, whether or not a specific payment earmarked for editing Wikipedia is made.) Thanks for this. I am new to Wikipedia editing and appreciate your comment.

In terms of any conflict of interest, I did want to point out some factual inaccuracies on Reuters-related pages, mainly relating to executives who have now left. Would that be permissible by raising in the Talk section?

Also, is it possible to suggest a new topic - for example, a new development or appointment in my company - without violating policy? I am happy to disclose my background and relationship wherever it is needed (hence my user post).
