Thanks for the kitten, and you're welcome. --JN466 12:45, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your work on Frederick Douglass article

Jayen - Thanks for all the additions and corrections, and especially for reinstating my contribution to the lede and adding citations for "He stood as a living counter-example to slaveholders' arguments that slaves did not have the intellectual capacity to function as independent American citizens.[3][4] In fact, even many Northerners found it hard to believe that such a great orator could possibly have been a slave.[5]" I went back and forth on this with Bender235, so I fear he may delete it again. I feel that these are valid and verifiable statements, he thinks they're OR. Bloody Viking (talk) 21:50, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

You're welcome. I'm watching the article. --JN466 23:22, 19 March 2011 (UTC)

Deutsche Fraueneishockey Liga

Bonsoir Jayen, my German language is very poor and I used a translator. Did I translate well the German page?

If you can correct my errors.I put the title Women's Ice Hockey in Gemany for this page because the name Deutsche Fraueneishockey Liga is not known (here in Canada and USA). Also to follow upon another pages Women's Ice Hockey in Finland , Women's Ice Hockey in Sweden. This week, Maple Leaf be going to complete the information on the German players. Bukkake Disambiguation

Thanks for arguing (successfully!) to get the DAB page set up for the Bukkake article. It's been a tiny annoyance for me for years! I am one of the editors that raised the issues in the past (and whose previous failures were referenced by other editors there) but I didn't have your patience and persistence and wasn't able to see the issue through to a successful conclusion! Thanks for stepping up! Wikipedia is a little better as a result. Yay! —mako 01:02, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

I want to thank you for your good editing and supportive contributions to the Werner Erhard vs. Columbia Broadcasting System and Werner Erhard articles. I appreciate your good arguments and applaud your conscientious editing. I recently edited some of your contribution to the Werner Erhard article and I might have been a bit heavy handed. (what does it say on the welcome page - be bold! - I guess I am learning how) Anyway - I look forward to continued productive work together.--MLKLewis (talk) 20:08, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Noleander Arbcom Case

I hate to say it but you are right. No Admin could have closed that thread nor would a RFC/U progressed anywhere. The Resident Anthropologist (Talk / contribs) 05:19, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

I'm only realizing this now, and it may for all I know be too late already, but it turns out I was engaged in a dialog with User:Noleander at Jewish religious terrorism that may be of relevance to the ArbCom being sought/reviewed against him. It is my impression that much of the material on the page has been synthesized from fragments of books and essays and as such constitutes WP:OR, which in this case is particularly problematic given the sensitive nature of the topic. I also suspect (though I've been delaying saying so out of WP:AGF toward Noleander) that the article's raison d'etre is largely to function as a WP:COATRACK so that individuals and groups listed in the article as Jewish terrorists can then be referred to as such in their respective articles. It's important to note that the only reason the word Jewish appears under Template:Terrorism is because of the Jewish religious terrorism article – an article so sloppily contrived that it's a veritable insult to the template it's under.—Biosketch (talk) 15:26, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

As you are already aware, I very much enjoy the article on Idries Shah and even though it is only a good article, I consider it to be of featured quality. In a separate (but related matter), we have a typical primary contributor/SPA, probable COI situation over at Jiddu Krishnamurti, as we do with many of our articles. Although the account(s) in question have done a fairly good job with covering all the bases, there are problems here and there that need to be resolved, and even though these same problems keep getting brought up on the talk page, they either never get addressed or get ignored amidst the backslapping and atta boys. The number of problems in this article is so great that to get into it in depth would take up far too much of our time. Which brings me to you and your work on the Shah article. IMO, your coverage of the topic should serve as a model for the Krishnamurti article, and what kind of work needs to be done to bring Krishnamurti to GA. I'm wondering if, whenever you actually have free time, you could do a peer review on Krishnamurti in the near future. I will probably submit it to peer review in the next day or so, and I would appreciate your informed commentary at that time. Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 09:13, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

I know what you mean. I'll watch out for the peer review and will leave some comments. --JN466 15:26, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

I have a limited amount of time and I am seriously trying to improve the article, which I believe you are as well. Yogesh Khandke, however, is adding garbage to the article. Please talk to him if you have any influence. I don't edit war (beyond 1RR), so the article will be the poorer, if Mr. Khandke gets away with his random edits. Fowler&fowler«Talk» 17:07, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your post. The best way forward is for editors to keep things as civil and professional as possible, even where our views differ, so we lose the emotional and personal element. It's good to remember that it's just an article, albeit an important one, and one that I agree with you is in poor shape at the moment (which really is much more important than the title dispute). I'll do my best to keep the content on track. --JN466 01:41, 17 April 2011 (UTC)

An arbitration case regarding Noleander (talk · contribs) has now closed and the final decision is viewable at the link above. The following remedies have been enacted:

  1. Noleander (talk · contribs) is topic-banned from making any edit relating to Judaism, the Jewish people, Jewish history or culture, or individual Jewish persons identified as such, broadly but reasonably construed, in any namespace.

Any disputes concerning the scope of the topic-ban may be raised on the Arbitration Enforcement page for prompt resolution. Unnecessary "wikilawyering" about the precise scope of the topic-ban is unwelcome and may be cause for further sanctions.

This topic-ban shall be effective indefinitely, but Noleander may request that it be terminated or modified after at least one year has elapsed. In considering any such request, the Committee will give significant weight to whether Noleander has established an ability to edit collaboratively and in accordance with Wikipedia policies and guidelines in other topic-areas of the project. Any perceptibly biased or prejudiced editing concerning any other group would weigh against lifting of the topic-ban and could also result in further sanctions.

  2. The attention of editors and administrators is drawn to the "Editors reminded and discretionary sanctions (amended)" clause of Race and intelligence that was recently adopted, as its terms are applicable to other disputes similar to those arising in this current case. For ease of reference, the amended remedy states:
Both experienced and new editors contributing to articles relating to the area of conflict (namely, the intersection of race/ethnicity and human abilities and behaviour, broadly construed) are reminded that this is a highly contentious subject and are cautioned that to avoid disruption they must adhere strictly to fundamental Wikipedia policies, including but not limited to: maintaining a neutral point of view; avoiding undue weight; carefully citing disputed statements to reliable sources; and avoiding edit-warring and incivility.

Hi J, long time no hear. I hope all is well.

A technical question, if I may? I have a quote and I want to add my own word in that quote to clarify. So I want it in square brackets. But I also want to wikilink that word in double brackets. WP doesn't like that. Do I need to escape the outer brackets in some way? Or is this not desirable?

Thanks a lot. Esowteric+Talk 10:43, 21 April 2011 (UTC)

Good to hear from you, J. Having been away from editing for a few months, I was a little paranoid of taking a peek at my messages and watch list. A bit like the feeling you might get on your return having bunked off school for a while, not knowing what might be in store for you. Just came across Memoirs of a Dervish which I haven't as yet read and I've other things on, so the best I could do for now was a stub article. :). Esowteric+Talk 09:36, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
