Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:ZootSuitad.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Kurykh 22:28, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for Image:Meaden.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Meaden.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. ElinorD (talk) 00:09, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The image Image:Meaden.jpg also needs a proper copyright tag. Also, please don't keep re-uploading Image:ZootSuitad.jpg after an administrator has deleted it. You say that it's free to copy from http://www.thewho.net/linernotes/30Years.htm website, with no restrictions. I looked at the website, and couldn't find anything that said that the image is free to use. We assume that images are copyrighted unless there is an explicit statement that they are not, and the only kind of images we accept are either public domain or released under a licence that allows anyone to use, distribute, modify, and sell. Please read Wikipedia:Image use policy, Wikipedia:Non-free content, and Wikipedia:10 things you did not know about images on Wikipedia before you try to upload any more images. And a final question: you have tagged Image:Peters grave.jpg as {{PD-self}}. Did you actually take that photo yourself? The reason I ask is that sometimes people who have saved an image from the web or some other source onto their computer think that they now hold the copyright, but that is not the case. Thanks, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I'll leave your page on my watchlist. ElinorD (talk) 00:09, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
