Putting NPG in the Hebrew University's of Jerusalem main page
Hi, Following your revision of my article about NPG (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Mikicook/sandbox), i'd like to continue the discussion - should it, as a sub-division of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI), appear in it's article page or on a page of it's own?
First of all, thanks for replying. Second, I'd like to declare my COI with this article - it's an organization I'm working in. I wish to contribute to it's inclusion in Wiki, though trying to keep it as neutral as possible (that's why I asked for so many revisions of it) while following the COI guidelines. I haven't mentioned this in the TeaHouse message, since I didn't think someone would actually revise the article. I thought I would just get directions how to apply for a revision.
Well, I agree it should be included in HUJI's main page, but maybe just as a short summary. Since it's a well developed topic, shouldn't it have a page of it's own? Besides, it is also one of Israel's open-air museums, I thought it could also have a part in that list (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_open-air_and_living_museums). What do you think?

- Hi, Mikicook! It would be advisable, in my opinion to develop some content on the university's page about it. What you have in your sandbox would be pretty good for that, if you edit it down in size a bit. Also, please go through what you have written and remove all the first person references. There are places where you have referred to "our" this or that. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from the viewpoint of an outside observer. You can easily add it to the list you mentioned still. You would simply Wikilink it by typing [[Hebrew University of Jerusalem#name of whatever you name the subsection]]. You are of course still welcome to buff it up a bit and resubmit it as an article. Just make sure you add some more references, preferably some you can view online. I will let another reviewer review it if you go that route, and I wish you luck. Also, please remember to sign your comments on talk pages or in forums like the Teahouse by typing four tildes (~~~~)at the end of your communication. Hi! Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I'd rather try and buff it up a bit. I have added an extra article to the sources' list, it's not available online either..I have a scanned copy of all of these articles though - if I'd upload them to wiki and post a link in the article, will it suffice for reliable sources? - No, offline sources are fine. That's why I am going to let another reviewer review it next time. One last question - After uploading pictures directly to the article, without submitting them to Commons, what else is needed in order to finish their licensing? I'll explain - I've received personally by mail a few pictures of the article's exhibits, by their author and creator. He has also confirmed their free usage and distribution. While reading the uploading files' manual, I got totally lost about how these pictures should be licensed. Therefor, I've just uploaded them directly, while mentioning the relevant details in their page. What else is needed in order to finish their licensing procedure? Thanks! - Hi, Mikicook. I think you may be a bit confused. You cannot directly upload a picture to an article. Perhaps you are trying to upload them to en.wikipedia instead of Commons? That is going to be my assumption to formulate an answer to your question. I found the three pictures you are talking about I think. It appears you have done most of what needs to be done, assuming the email to OTRS has been sent by the professor. Source should be "Donated by author" tho. - On the file pages for the photos, you had stated that the email from the copyright holder was being taken care of. I really don't know what OTRS stands for, but the owner of the photos has to release them by emailing otrs. there are links on the file page. unless this happens, the pictures will end up getting deleted. Wiki is very insistent about proper copyright procedures. And as I stated above, unless he is willing to completely release them (that is give up his right to receive payment anywhere for the pictures use or re-use), you cannot use the pictures. Hey there, I did indeed locate the Ghost Town Barnstar and thought I would award it to the editor. Amazing work, BUT yes, there are some things which will need to be addressed. They are minor, interviews, the facts that they ate chickens and loaded wood, etc et, however, I was IMPRESSED. It is difficult to communicate just how much work goes into providing veracity to these places. As to the barnstar designation, as you will imagine, remote places such as these are not common topics of dinner conversation...at lest for those who do not explore the places..our house debates them daily....I have volunteered to assist, and the offer is genuine hopefully, this article could grow into impressive stature. - I originally was checking "Recent changes" for either vandalism or for new editors to welcome. For welcomes, I look for Red "User/Talks" with at least a few contributions. User:Nickmich1695 led me to User:Ethanforman which led me to the article and then to Education Program:University of Michigan/SI 110: Introduction to Information (Winter 2014). I thought you might be interested. I didnt want to step on any toes but the article is bloated and seems obviously paraphrased from articles and books. - Hey Buster....wanted to let you know I reverted the removal of the orphan tag on this. To be considered not an orphan it has to have links to 2 articles in mainspace. This article only has one. Normally, i would have just found an article to link to it, but I feel the best thing for this article is a merge to the only article that is now linked to it. - TKS J. I learn 'sumthin' new every day. I added this article to the "See also" section @ Spoofed URL. Having never merged two significant (size) articles, I'll put that on the back burner. As for the article as it exists, I find that it is 5 separate authors (students) with very little cross-editing of each other and so no real Wikipedia-like collaboration. I think I will wait till the school project is over and see what the result is. Deleted articles and COI question
Hi John from Idegon,
Im not sure if this where I should ask questions to you so apologies if not and feel free to cut and paste back in the right place. Thank you very much for your message, I completely understand your view on COI and how some of the content could be perceived as promotional or advertising. What do you suggest I do to get the speedy deltion of our Uk page cancelled? Should I be the one editing it? and if so, would this be considered COI even if the new content is encyclopedic?

- Hi, Wikikokoba. You find a guide to editing with a COI here: WP:PSCOI. It would probably be wise if you familiarized yourself with the requirements for notability (that is the name we use for our policy on what to include in the encyclopedia) at WP:GNG and the specific requirements for businesses at WP:NCORP. Please keep in mind that the standard for inclusion here has nothing to do with anyone's perceived importance of a given subject. Instead, it is the fairly objective standard of whether others are talking about the subject of the article in reliable sources. Hope that helps. Question about sources
My edits to the Salesianum School page all had sources, in the athletics section and notable alumni section. What is your concern with my edits? They are not wrong or damaging the site. http://www.wdel.com/story.php?id=57477 clearly states that Salesianum has won 140 state championships. That same article discusses Salesianum's first basketball state championship. Paul Ciancia is an alum, as the article http://abcnews.go.com/US/lax-suspect-paul-ciancia-loner-classmates/story?id=20773451 . http://www.cmgbooking.com/catholic-speakers/kevin-reilly verifies Kevin Reilly's association with the school. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0919991/bio refers to Tom Welling's time at Salesianum. Is there a reason why these are not acceptable sources?

- Hi, Igotthis! apologies on the radio station reference. I just plain misread it. the others, however are not what wikipedia calls reliable sources. And the guy from the airport is inappropriate on many levels. Firstly, he is not notable. When someone's name redirects to an article about something he is involved in, that indicates that it has already been decided that he is not notable enough to have an article. Being notable enough to have an article is the inclusion standard for lists of notable alumni. The abc news ref is fine. it still doesn't make the guy notable. but a booking agency is not an independent or a reliable source and IMDB is never a reliable source. The ref that was on the state championship claims goes nowhere. without referencing it, you can't claim most, best, or any other superlative. If you can source it, it is great content for the article. I frankly have never done an article on a Delaware high school but most states sanctioning bodies have an archive that you can reference that to. John from Idegon (talk) 19:45, 28 March 2014 (UTC)
