Re Reginald Hosking[edit]

William Hardham was a captain in the Queen Alexandra's Mounted Rifles who won the Victoria Cross. Notice that the title of the article about him is not Captain William Hardham but is simply William Hardham, which is the norm style in Wikipedia. Accordingly, your Captain Reginald Hosking artice should be moved to Reginald Hosking.

Also, the VC makes Hardham a notable member of QAMR, but there is nothing in the Hosking article indicating he was notable enough to justify an article in Wikipedia. The sources you gave are also not adequate references.

Furthermore, we do not include genealogical trees of non notable people, so I have removed that info from the article. Moriori (talk) 01:19, 22 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Captain Reginald Hosking has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability, no sources

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Joshua Keijsers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. PamD 07:15, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

July 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself, at Joshua Keijsers. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Additions of non-notable people to list articles[edit]

Please refrain from adding non-notable relatives to various surname lists, as you have done at Craig (surname), Keijzer, and Hosking. JoelleJay (talk) 07:25, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Joshuait -- I've moved this to draft instead of deleting so that you have a chance to reference the article and try to demonstrate notability. You can continue to edit it at Draft:Arthur Chatterton but don't move it back into mainspace without adding reliable sources (such as books, journal articles or newspaper reports) that show why the subject is important. It will be deleted. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 11:34, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
