Hi Jugarum. You have twice [1], [2] inserted your own photograph into the Normandy article. It's a nice photograph (Image:USNormandyCemetery.jpg). However, you are using it over an existing image, Image:Cimetière Américain.JPG, which more clearly shows the graves of the dead soldiers, and is therefore more appropriate as an image of a cemetery. Your photo, attractive though it is, mainly shows a square lake - the graves in the distance can not easily be discerned. Other than your understandable personal fondness and pride for your own image, can you explain your thinking behind using it over the existing image? You may reply here. Regards, SilkTork *SilkyTalk 19:59, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. Hey, let's talk, eh? I leave you a message explaining the reasons for why I feel one image is preferable to another. You don't respond. Time goes by. You don't make any edits. I make the change. You then come and revert back. Let's talk. It's only a small thing - it's not a big issue, but it becomes a big issue when people don't talk. I have given my reasons for feeling that one image is preferable to another. But, anyway - I have now put up a neutral image - one that is actually more fitting to the context of the section. What do you think of that as a compromise? Regards SilkTork *SilkyTalk 07:39, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry Mate. I'm new to Wiki, so please forgive me for not answering you in a timely manner. Anyhow, I didn't mean to offend you by placing a picture I took over anothers. The picture I took seemed to fit the caption a bit better. It actually shows the scale of the cemetery, for the most part. Mostly everybody knows what a Christian American Soldiers headstone looks like. Also, I placed the picture so that those humans that cannot afford to visit Normandy, can get a small glimps at what the cemetery looks like. If I had a better camera with a wider lens I could have placed a better picture, but this was all I had. Of course I'm proud of my work, but thats not the reason for placing it in Wiki. - Jug —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.159.50.181 (talk) 16:25, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the image I used was a close duplication of the one in the Geography section. I hadn't noticed that. I have tried again with a different image related to the history of Normandy. You may be interested that there are articles directly on some of the war cemeteries in France. Take a look here Category:Cemeteries in France, and there are more images on Wikimedia Commons. Thanks for the link ST. Oh, and the new photo is...ok. I can live with it. Anything roman is cool. So, one time when I was in Austria on some shit-kickin tour, the bus driver pulled off so we could get out and stare at an old roman road (typical touristy crap). It was but a 3 meter segment, but you'll never guess what it was next to! A F***ing McDONALDS! I kid you not! My wife had the camera and took a picture of the road, but somehow managed NOT to get the drivethrough in the picture! Go figure. Anyhow, the picture you put up reminded me of that. Nice. Courthouse image

[edit]

I must commend you for such a nice image of our Courthouse downtown. It's almost Featured worthy but of course that would be up to the person that monitor that. [EDIT: In fact the rest of your images are very good. Sharp and high resolution.] Good job with the photos and continue to represent Clarksville. :) -- Riffsyphon1024 (talk) 19:56, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
