Image use

Hello, I noticed your edits to the articles River and Cattle. On Wikipedia, images are not just for decorating articles, they should relate to the specific content of the section they are added in beyond just illustrating the subject. I can see you are passionate about Ghana, which is great, but this energy is better spent working on Ghanaian articles rather than trying to add images of Ghanaian things to unrelated articles. Thank you for the education. I will do better Knowledge and philosophy (talk) 20:24, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. If I might add one thing: the only purpose of images on Wikipedia is to inform the reader of something. Therefore, adding yet-another-image-of-the-Animal/Plant/Flower/Feature is unhelpful and counter-productive. What the reader wants is the shortest possible article that conveys the maximum information. Images *can* be worth a thousand words; or they can just be useless clutter. Take care which type you add!
