Portrait of Count Stanislas Potocki
[edit]Hi Kosboot! After responding to a thread on the Chopin talk page, I took a look at your profile and saw we share some of the same interests and at least one alma mater--I'm currently getting my Ph.D. in art history at The Graduate Center and it looks like you're an alum. It also seems you've contributed to many topics related to Polish culture (mostly music). Would you, by any chance, be interested in collaborating on Portrait of Count Stanislas Potocki, a painting by Jacques-Louis David from 1781? The article has been mostly abandoned for the last two years and the work as well as its history are quite fascinating, ranging from Enlightenment politics in Eastern Europe to David's influence beyond France. I would love to bring it to GA or FA level, though due to other commitments, I am looking to team up with more editors. And feel free to recommend someone else if this is not something you would be interested in participating. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! Many thanks. Ppt91 (talk) 16:18, 25 January 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you so kindly Ppt91 for the invitation! Art is not my field of expertise so I would be just "starting" to learn the sources. I've not been able to edit regularly because I have too many responsibilities at the moment. This should clear up by March and at that time I'll assess my availability. Thanks again and all the best to you! - kosboot (talk) 01:31, 26 January 2023 (UTC)
- Kosboot So glad to hear that there is interest. Let's touch base in March. In the meantime, maybe we'll run into each other--a lot of recent books I thought would be instant ILL are actually showing up at NYPL :) Ppt91 (talk) 18:48, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
