Removing Red Links[edit]

Howdy, I noticed that you unlinked red links in a wrestling article (NXT TakeOver 7). I know we cannot know every single rule or guideline on Wikipedia so I figured I would share one with you as it looks you may not be aware of it: WP:RED. This states "Do not remove red links unless you are certain that Wikipedia should not have an article on that subject". I am of the belief that the linked article(s) are notable enough but just do not have an article yet. It is not okay to remove a link because it is red, it can be detrimental to Wikipedia. If you need more details I suggest you read the WP:RED page. So please keep that in mind before indiscriminately removing red links. Thank you and happy editing.  MPJ-US  13:19, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think you may need to read the above one more time as you removed red links again. It will he hard to claim you did not know the rules going forward you know? For now there is the good.faith assumption you were not aware of rules. But that would not be the case next time. MPJ-US  14:00, 6 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Link Changes[edit]

Howdy, I noticed that you made link change in a wrestling article (NXT TakeOver 7) where you replaced a redirect with a piped link. I know we cannot know every single rule or guideline on Wikipedia so I figured I would share one with you as it looks like you may not be aware of it: WP:NOTBROKEN. It states:

"Some editors are tempted, upon finding a link to a redirect page, to bypass the redirect and point the link directly at the target page. While there are a limited number of cases where this is beneficial, there is otherwise no good reason to pipe links solely to avoid redirects. Doing so is generally an unhelpful, time-wasting exercise that can actually be detrimental."

So it is greatly encouraged to use redirects even if that is not the current name of the article. Please try to keep thAt rule in mind for future editing. Thank you and happy editing. MPJ-US  13:19, 5 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Links to articles like Rhyno and Solomon Crowe are two examples where you complicate things by bypassing the redirect, please stop as it is not helpful at all. Next time you change them you cannot claim you were not aware of the guidelines.  MPJ-US  18:05, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. June 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Compassionate727. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Jeff Hardy, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! –Compassionate727 (T·C) 12:02, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Images taken from Flickr[edit]

I noticed you uploaded a pic of Paige which originally came from Miguel Discart's Flickr Account, as a low resolution PNG image. There's a number of things wrong with this. The first is that Wikipedia content can be exported and possibly printed out, and having a low resolution image makes the image look pixelated when it's sized up. The second is how PNG images are needlessly huge when it comes to file sizes compared to JPEG images.

To fix these problems, I had to figure out a way to get the original photo transferred to the Commons and crop it without resizing it down or losing quality.

The next time you plan bring in an image from Flickr and/or crop it afterward, please follow these steps to get the best quality image. --wL<speak·check> 04:12, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
